PhoenixKnight13
http://i.imgur.com/5krHpkm.png Welcome! This will be the pre-release home of the Ashes to Ashes Detective Agency; aiming to provide an up-to-date scope of the mod in addition to acting as the 'base of operations' for releasing teaser content, support, and other shenanigans. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ BIG NOTICE THING ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~June 14 2018 - As mentioned in my last response to this thread, I've recently come back to the game and modding with an intent to take back up the helm of this project. Expect some changes to these details and for now it's just me-myself-and-I so if anyone's interested in joining to help please send me a PM. Thanks for your interest and feedback!- Phoenix Synopsis -Are you looking for a more in-depth and challenging quest experience from Fallout 4? Looking to expand upon the gameplay style that Nick Valentine's questlines only grazed the surface of? Are you in love with the Film Noir genre and it's shadowy figures of detectives, dames, and dasterdly evildoers? Then the Ashes to Ashes Detective Agency is your answer! You will have the opportunity to adapt to an entirely new persona and modified playstyle, that of the Private Dick, I mean Detective. Utilizing your arsenal of both mental and physical weapons to solve a variety of mysteries set against the shady Film Noir genre. This project is an extensive mod arc intended to be played on Very Hard or Survival modes, and will cover a variety of gameplay features. These include, but are not limited to;New storyline & quests! - Closely tied to the events and background of Nick Valentine's character, these will include an initial 5-part chain plus a 7-part radiant line and various subquests that will lend support to player progression using the newly acquired persona. Longterm support will include additional content and quest packs.New NPCs! - Enemies and friendlies, rivals and frenemies, quest givers, even potential employees! All major characters will have fully scripted and voice acted dialogue and monologues.New areas! - Also utilizing vanilla areas that are currently closed off.New factions! - Building alongside the canon Fallout history, the new factions will tie into the main FO4 storyline as well as past lore.New items! - Settlement build items, exclusive weapon and clothing/armor set with a unique approach to mods, aid (both medical and chem usage), perks, legendaries, environmental media such as posters, and more!Actual detective work! - This arc will *not* rely so heavily on the map marker crutch or 'violence solves everything' resolutions (don't get me wrong, there will still be plenty of violence! :ninja: :pirate: ).The player will be challenged to make use of their problem solving skills via; tracking and situational awareness, SPECIAL stat & speech checks, tactical use of the perk tree, solving puzzles & riddles, kicking ass and taking names (not necessarily in that order), and other sleuthy shenanigans. For those that still need assistance solving quests there will be a unique in-game system that will act as a 'cheat sheet' of sorts to provide hints and point the way. There will be no spoilers or walkthroughs posted outside the game by our team. Ever. Kthnx. You shall bask in glorious immersion. We will be revising the content and features as we go to adhere with patched/DLC content and the GECK's capabilities. We'll also be contacting a select group of mod authors to work towards cross-compatibility with popular mods in order to provide as extensive an experience as possible while minimizing conflicts. Some teaser info for you -Mod author DOOMBASED (aka StabCops/DOOM) has signed on to the team and pledged the use of his M2019 PKD Detective Special. The M2019 will receive some special treatment unique to this mod that won't be present in the standalone mod version (new mod slots and features as well as some new visual aspects and integration with the unique clothing/armor set). The aim of these unique modifications will be to improve the M2019's capabilities, thus supporting a wider range of use into endgame as your 'go-to weapon' (for all my fellow gunslingers out there). This will not preclude you from using other weapons of course, merely provide extra backbone to an already amazing weapon to keep in line with the style of the mod. Cal of Team Bacon has also offered his support for cross-mod capabilities and resource sharing with Team Bacon projects, as they have similarly themed mods in the works. On to the technical bits! Here are the general roles we're looking to fill by adding to the team lineup (keeping in mind that the current members can partially fill these roles, think of this as the complete 'parts' list). I'm looking to balance the team roles so no single person is relied on too heavily, without going over the top by recruiting a lot of people.Texturing & Modeling - Creating custom items for settlement buildings, weapons & armor, and miscellaneous visual tasks.Animation - Creating custom character animations for a limited range of applications.Area/Level Building - Creating interior cells and maps.Character Art - Designing custom NPCs via the character creation tools and BodySlide/Outfit Studio.Writing - Storyline, quest development, and script writing.Art & Illustration - Storyboarding and mockups, various in-game assets, branding and media design.Video & Audio Tech - In-game audio assets, teaser & trailer videos.Code & Script Development - Scripting for in-game assets, NPCs, quests, new areas, and various interactions. Miscellaneous FO4Edit work.Voice Acting - Reading and recording voiceover scripts for various character interactions and monologues.Testers - Willing to sit down and nerd out over all the features in search of nefarious bugs and related f*#@ery. That's right bitches, F-BOMBS. This mod will indeed have adult language and themes, like the rest of FO4 or any good Rated-R movie. Viva la résistance!I'll personally be handling a variety of tasks, including but not limited to; Writing, Art & Illustration, Audio/Video, Voice Acting, Character Art, Level Design, FO4Edit gruntwork, general organization and inspiration for the team via written and storyboard/mockup content, team recruitment, and anything else I can figure out to make myself useful. I already have a considerable amount of content written out for team members to peruse and draw from, but I'm always happy to receive feedback and ideas if you're interested in helping. If you meet the needs of any of these roles or would like to contribute in another way, please send me a PM with your interest(s) and skillset(s). Creative individuals that value attention to detail and work well in an active team environment are urged to apply! Sense of humor required. :cool:S Edited June 14, 2018 by PhoenixKnight13

kevkiev
This looks incredible. Just an idea, but you could try getting the author of the 1930's clothing mod on board. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/19809/? Kinda seems made for this. (The outfits are screaming for lining mods/ballistic weave capability though. Imo of course.)
jase180
I voice Hoth in Skyrim, Capt Scull in Fallout New Vegas Bounties and more recently, the main questgiver in a mod releasing this weekend that I can't mention yet. That said, Would love to throw my hat in the ring for this. Added bonus, I have a metric ton of experience writing Film Noir dialog :)
PhoenixKnight13
Sorry to say I got out of Fallout 4 a while back and work on this was discontinued. I wasn't able to get the necessary people to cover the coding end of things and I got busy with work. I may be able to pick it up in the future but at this point it's dead in the water. Certain original aspects of the story I wrote for this add-on will find their way into a novel/comic I'm working on, that's about it for now. I appreciate the interest though, and should anyone capable of pulling off this kind of work want to take over the project I would be happy to contribute to the written aspects (storyline, quests, dialogue, etc).
