Would like to see these from developers or modders.

- quests that sets up background story and leads to acquiring something unique rather the regular xp, gold, items.

i.e like a story base questline that brings the hero to create a brand new dragon shout/unique equipments/hidden companions.

- a stronghold questline where you get to make the choices on defenses, construction, recruitment, decoration.

- stealth missions to pit your wits against the AI

- quest to set up a rituals / magical traps for epic battle

- be able to interact with enigmatic characters on hidden special events, that can be deciphered from books or speaking to npcs or divining or dreams.

I liked the "Whodunit" quest, but was disappointed at the lack of chest-of-goldiness (yes, I know it's a lie intended as a lure but hey I'm a mercenary sorta gal) so I'd like there to be hidden treasure for this who like to explore EVERYTHING down to the last corner, highest peak, and lowest ravine. Treasure that pertains to the location like the t-shirt collection mods one and two for oblivion

Personally, I enjoy the way the "side quests" in Mount and Blade (I use quotation marks, as the whole game is pretty much side quests) work. Say for example, a town gets invaded by bandits. You hear of this from a nearby town, or by word-of-mouth. So, you go save the village. You can either ask the peasants that live in said village for payment, or you can do it au gratis. Either way, your actions would affect your current standing with the people of that village, as well as your reputation within the faction that hold rule over the village.

I apologize for any spelling errors and/or any poor formating. It's late here, and I'm using my iPod to type this. I'll fix it tomorrow when I'm at my computer.

Edit: Fixed it! :D

I personally love the whole damzzle in distress say your walk through town and an old man wobbles up to u and tells you plz sir I hear your the dragonborn some bandits kidinaped my daughter they went to there hide out with her they are holding her ranssom will you go save her plz then when you find her turns out she is the leader of the gang and she set the whole thing up because her father arranged her marriage to sOme rich family and she wants her father to pay so you have a choice knock her out and kill the other bandits and drag her back to her dad and explain to him what's going on or say nothing or tell him after u leave it could come out to a possibility of a ton of different out comes stuff like that are fun also all the

Dark brother hood quest were fun with a crazy twist

Oblivion undeniably had the best quests in the video game history ever. You were mostly placed in an amazingly interesting role of a detective, quests were immersive, most of them had an interesting twist, there were like 4 fetch quests in the whole game.(and they were fun and actually made sense)The quests were so dynamic, diverse, unique and above all, they were FUN.

Only thing I'd like is more escort quests and random encounters on the ROADS a la Morrowind, not that Oblivion didn't have those, Morrowind actually had way too many seemingly random NPCs on the road, still, they all had their story and it was often a nice change from traveling alone. Anyway that's a personal preference rather than necessity.

EDIT: Oh and more emphasize on choice/consequence system.

Good side quest ideas:

-Bank robbery

-Assassination mission, where you disguise yourself as the victim, and should kill your assassin.

-Action packed dungeon fetch mission, with loads of traps.

-Fetching a dragon egg, then the dragon awakes, and an epic fight begins

-stealthy sabotage mission

-Collecting pieces of seals through Skyrim, that when combined, give you a very powerful shout

-Kill 15 mudcrabs

Besides, it doesn't matter that much what theme the mission is about, but how well it is implemented.

In Oblivion, the mission where you have to hide within a house with 5 other guests, and then kill them one by one, without them noticing who the killer is.

It is a basic kill mission, but very well implemented, and one of the best in the game.
