rnoswal
I can tell my nvidia geforce 9400 is old. I have an amd quad core 9650 2.3 ghz processor 8 gb of ram. I am thinking of an ATI radeon HD 5620 graphics card as a middle of the road card that will support dx11. Witcher 2 is a struggle with the current 9400. I am also playing crysis 2 which with the 9400 is :unsure a bit better, but was hoping for a few opinions on the ati radeon HD 5620, or price range close to 120 tops. Shoot and let me know whats working and how good or bad. Thanks Russ
JimboUK
Are you sure that is the right card? I googled it and the only mention of that card was this thread. On your budget, is that 120 Dollars, Pounds, Euros, Ducats?
Illiad86
Yes, what currency? There is no card called the 5620, unless ATI is making weird numbered cards now lol. As far as $120USD, you could get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102898 Don't have this particular 5770, but they are NICE cards. I'm playing The Witcher 2 currently on one, runs fantastic :) But, your CPU and RAM also have to do a lot with how well your games run. Getting your quad core overclocked to at least 3.0GHz will also give you a nice boost in performance :)
naked blade
For myself, I have found ATI cards a bit unstable for my work, have no idea why but I just don't seem to have any luck with them. Presently I am looking at a ZOTAC ZT-50402-10L GeForce GTX 550 Ti AMP. I am now running a GeForce 250 GT and it is stable and solid. But, it is not DX11 capable. I work in graphics and am self learning 3D applications such as 3D Max, Blender and I also do a lot of work in Illustrator and Photoshop. And of course I enjoy playing some games to go along with that. I guess it comes down to personal choice, but to me and the work I do the Nvidia cards seem to work better for me. I just completed my new system a few months ago and the new video card will complete the system, the old card will go into my faithful XP system. Asus Crossfire IV Formula motherboardPhenom II T1055 six core AMDVengeance DDR3 1600 RAM / 8 GigGeForce GTS 250 (soon to be replaced)Win 7 64 Ulitmate

Thanks RussWell mate, I'm running the game with most settings on high on an old NVidia GeForce 8800 GTX 512, plus I still run XP so I only get 3 Gig of the available RAM, the only issue I've had so far is that every once in a while I get a short loadscreen whilst moving through some areas, the most notable is when going to the Troll Bridge, but it only lasts a second or so and therefore is no real biggie as far as I'm concerned. Sorry about the mistake on the video card, it is a 5670 not 5620. I am still wondering about the pop up squares during the game and still wondering if it is possible to enlarge the text size in them. They are very hard to read. Any help is appreciated. The game runs pretty good with my card, but the sound stutters during the time Geralt remebers his death. Think I need a sound card as it is playing off the motherboard sound. ThanksRuss
