tomomi1922
It has been a while (about 3+ weeks) since I touched anything Fallout 4. So I am rusty and not keeping up with news. But I am at 233 on my loadorder.txt. I think the last mod is still able to load. And isn't the limit 225? Is there any way around this now? Because I just visited the mod archive and saw quite a few mods I wanted to download. Thanks in advance for someone to bring me up to date. (is GECK out yet?) seekingthesun
The more plugins that you have, the most likely bugs and conflict are. Yes, there is a limit to how many plugins you can have but it's most irrelevant. You can yourself merge together some if you'd like. There's little reason why all clothing mods have to be separate plugins

(is GECK out yet?)the limit was 255 because of 32bit address not allowing more than 4gb.64bit allows for thousands of gb so there isnt any limit on the amount of mods you can install but the more you have probably the slower your game will run. only because you only have so much video Ram. This is incorrect. The mod limit on Fallout 4 is 254 mods. This is because the FormID length has not changed - the first 2 hex digits are the load order and the remaining six digits are the reference within that mod. Since the load order is still 2 hex digits, the most any mod can use is up to FE, or 254, because FF is reserved for dynamically added items, and 00 is for Fallout4.esm. And yes, DLC do count towards this limit. Edited March 21, 2016 by Reneer

Plugins.txt, DLClist.txt, or loadorder.txt? They all have different line counts. And there are some mods who actually have 2-5 esp or esm. I guess they count as 2-5 mods instead of 1 mod right? PoliteRaider
So the answer is still the same  I guess 3 weeks isn't long enough of a hiatus for miracle to happen. Unfortunately this is not likely to ever change. Although honestly you probably shouldn't run that many mods simultaneously anyway, technical limits not withstanding. If you want to mod the game to that degree it's probably worth your time to take a look at FO4Edit and learn a bit of how it works. Even without actually making mods yourself it will let you combine multiple .esp files together into a single file, create compatibility patches yourself and the increased understanding of how mods work will make it a lot easier for you to manage that many mods together. Its likely only 254 because of consoles. Edited March 21, 2016 by hamguy21

It's not likely they would change it, as they are now fully vested in keeping console and pc the same, separating them even in the number of mods that could be loaded would theoretically would add a further gap to a system they are trying to stream line already.
