I think an Argonian doing a dragon shout is gonna sound goofy. "Fusssss Roh Dahsssssss!"

Anyway glad to see them back though I keep imagining them like reptiles in a cold climate just chilling on a rock in the sun motionless. I can just imagine fighting one,"I would kick your ass right now if I had the adequate internal body temperature to do so!" "Oh boy once I warm up in the sun you gonna get it!" *hit him with a weak frost spell then just watch* "Oh you are the biggest kinda a**hole.."

Ok you get a cookie, that was hilarious. :D

As someone who's used to reptiles, the hotter they get the more active they become, IE, if a snake rests in the sun in summer, and gets hot, it'll be active, curious, and very energetic. If it's overcast and cool it'll still be active, but won;t have the usual excess energy. What I will say is that reptiles and arachnids alike don't have the same metabolic rate as mammals: most mammals eat once or twice a day, or more, whereas my cousin's python eats as little as once a week sometimes. Likewise for spiders, they don't eat as regularly because they don't need to, they may be less active in the cold, but they burn less energy when resting. This is why Pythons and Tarantulas have evolved so much larger than their venomous, mobile counterparts: they are ambush predators and rarely need to move far, except to finish off their prey, so with such less energy usage they can grow large and fierce.

Also, note which orangs are emphasised: the brain size to biomass is equal to us having a brain that completely fills our entire torso.

Is it nerdy that I am genuinely fascinated by the anatomy of a spider? I always though it would be neat to have accurate anatomy in Skyrim like a hit to the torso isn't just a flat amount of damage but impedes the function of vital organs. I know it's way too much to ask for but it would be nice.

All ten races make a return and further more morrowind is under Argonian control. So argonians could easily go to skyrim which borders morrowind.

Todd Howard has confirmed that all ten races make a return, so Argonians are definitely in the game

In fact he mentioned it again in the Gamespot interview at E3 today

Well... My bad. ._. xD

Well, let's talk about how they'll cope, like we're doing now. <.<

I don't think there will be too many of them, at least compared to other races. Firstly we haven't seen any Argonians, neither in pictures or videos. Secondly, it would seem strange. They live in Black Marsh, which is pretty much opposite of Skyrim, yes? While they could survive, wasn't it that they don't like cold? Maybe there could be more of them in the southern parts of Skyrim, and moving north less and less.

Black marsh is swamp lands, elsweyr would be the opposite of skyrim

Well yeah, but the climate is quite different (Argonia=warm, Skyrim=cold) which is what I meant. And I'm pretty sure it's not just swamp lands, the northern areas are rain forest and such. Swamps are near the coast.

Black Marsh is quite interesting, actually. Maybe TES VI? Imagine it on next gen graphics...

Anatomicaly speaking I think spiders are a ridiculous choice for an enemy, they'd be waaaaaaaaaay to easy to kill, the brain, heart, lungs, and digestive tracts are all very close to the carapace, which is nowhere near as thick as people seem to think. Still, people are scared of them, which means that we'll see them as an enemy somewhere. The other thing is, if we get a cut, provided it stays clean, and doesn't get ifected, ti will eventualy heal. Not so with arachnids, as these truly ancient creatures lack the biosystems to even clot their Haemolymph psuedoblood, the first step to self healing. A wound, even a small one, requires immediate vetinary attention, as it will not stop bleeding of it's own accord.

Just a note for you Arachnophobic people out there: Spiders are some of the most timid creatures on earth, if a spider bothers you, around, they primarily sense using whisker-like vibration sensors, aside from the eyes, and big thumping stomps absolutely terrify them, usualy provocing them to flee in a wild panic. This particularly effects Tarantulas, which, though very large, are largely nonevenomous, and extremely timid-while they will gesture threateningly when disturbed, this is display, if it fails to send you fleeing for the hills the Tarantula will usualy turn and flee, they aren't built for fighting, and they know full well. And besides, all spiders have great vision and are very clever, they know you're a thousand times their size, and they won't mess with you with the exception of a few species, all of which live nowhere near humans, and the notoriously savage, canibalistic Black Widow and notoriously fearless yet fear-inducing Australian Huntsman.

The huntsman inspired the Spider in the Skyrim trailer, extremely fast, with excellent natural camo and lightning reflexes, the Huntsman is a common sight all throughout Australia and Asia. Very large, and with Tarantula-esque body features. the Huntsman is a highly agressive predator that instead of building a web, roams and ambushes, with behavior similar to a lone Wolf. Huntsmans are supremely adaptable to human environs, often enter houses, and seem to lack other species' healthy fear of humans, Huntsman, though not actualy able to hurt a human, are known to bumrush humans that disturb them, as if they know you're afraid. The tactic works: seeing a black, hairy, Tarantula like monster the size of your fist charging at you at nearly 20 KM/H sends most people, even the hardy Australians, who are used to animals that try to kill them, fleeing in a blind panic.

Pic related, one of the world's largest, and amusingly, most docile spiders. Bracypelma Smithii, the Mexican Red-Knee Tarantula. Weighing about a tenth of a kilo, this fist sized arachnid is a gentle, burrow dwelling ambush predator, found throughtout South America. Long lived and slow growing, the famously gentle Smithii is an endangered species, as despite it's inch-long fangs, it lacks both any significant venom, or the agressive nature to use it, rampant trapping for the exotic pet trade, combined with almost laughable misuse of chemicals in Mexico have seen wild numbers drop to a tiny fraction within barely a decade, with the species likely to become extinct, since nobody is interested in saving creatures that don't look cute on those shiney WWF brochures we taxpayers fund. And yes, I am bitter.
