Let me INVITE the Minutemen to Sanctuary or another settlement...

In this mod, Momma Murphy is not having a vision of Sanctuary, therefore they don't automatically run over, crash your pad and load you up with all kinds of minigame support tasks right off.

I want to do some things like get some exploration, crafting and building done and get some levels before I have to devote time to the settler minigame. I might, oh I don't know, want to head off to pursue the main storyline for a bit too before I have to play denmother.

So in this scenario, the Minutemen don't know where to go from Concord. They want somewhere quieter to go so they can rebuild, and ask you to look out for a suitable place.

Your options would be:

a) invite them to a settlement

b) tell them to wait in Concord while you look for one

c) tell them they should stay in Concord and rebuild the museum to inspire people

d) Exit

B and C set up another request-response sequence.

After choosing B and then opening a dialogue with Preston again, you should get the following options:

a) Ask for information on locations he knows of for rebuilding the Minutemen (radiant quests)

b) Ask for information on the main mission (Diamond City etc.)

c) Invite them to a settlement (Sanctuary Hills or other you have crafting rights on)

d) Exit

After choosing C, you should get the same request/response as B except no option to invite them to a settlement. They're tied to the museum then (wonder if they could wander around hammering on things to make it look authentic?).

i haven't played all the way through yet so if there are other options Preston might need to respond to, they would need to be added.

Thanks for reading, and I hope someone finds this idea interesting!

are you actually mkaing this mod?

Sorry no, I'm not a modder. I do technical writing so laying out the options is not too difficult, so i thought I'd get it this far to see what people think.

I'm really big on choice and it seems like Beth has decided to just force me to do things they think I should, so this would give back some choice in how your game goes.

I think this is a splendid idea and fully endorse the request for adding such a mod to the game, as I've been bugged since I got the game by the audacity of the MinuteMen in taking over *my* village and denying the fact I've lived there even after having told dear Preston.

Am slightly worried though that such a mod would only be possible when the Creation Kit finally makes its appearance, which should be (if and when not delayed) end of April (of this here year)...
