jones177
I run vivid weathers as well. I use the performance ini at 4k. The only tweaks I use in my Skyrim ini are the ones recommended by vivid weathers & the usual multy thread tweaks as well. I have not touched the enbseries.ini. It is just perfect for my needs. My enblocal.ini is radical because I use EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=true. That is what I use to keep Skyrim smooth. The down side is that ENB is not using the executable so it is easy to run out of ram. All I do now is keep vram below 3.4 & I am ok. I am going to try to get rid of it this weekend because I needed it for my .262 RealVision setup but my not need it for the Vivid Weathers .305 setup. If Skrim stutters without it I will put it right back on. Warning. If EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks is not configured properly(see STEP guide) or you use too much vram, Skyrim will not load. Also have a good look at your enblocal.ini. Make shure that you have a ProxyLibrary set. I use d3d9_smaa.dll. Later
Austinlele
Hello Jones177, I plan to go through STEP .... step by step so that I know I have a proven and tested setup to base my expectations off of. I have already followed Vivid Weather's mod description for any tweaks there so I should be good to go in that regard. Seems as if I won't mess with enbseries.ini since that is what Vivid's mod author spent the most time tweaking for that preset, correct? Glad that there is one file I don't need to worry about ha. I'll definitely have to look into the EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks tweak to see how that works on my system. But I have a feeling it won't help me out much since my problem is not directly memory related. Still worth a try to help smooth the game out. STEP goes over how to setup the ProxyLibrary a bit generally but I am sure I can google for good documentation on that. I will then look into adding that in my file. How do you have your vsync setup? (through skyrim, nvidia control panel, or frame limited elsewhere) Do you use triple buffering from the nvidia settings? and lastly (for this post) what do you have set for the enb "reserved memory" and "vram memory" settings? jones177
Hi I use drivers only for vsync. Two sources of vsync can cause stutter with this card. No triple buffering. I have the video memory set a maximum (10240) & reserved memory set to 512. The settings for our cards is over max, if you do the math. So max it is. I have played with reserved memory, but my game did not change so I leave to at default. Later
CthulhuCthulhu
You can change the Video memory size and the reserved memory vsriables specifically for your PC, I'll fill you in on that. Edited April 5, 2016 by CthulhuCthulhu
CthulhuCthulhu
Well, I can see your RAM is higher than 4 and in that case the formula is quite different. Take your total available VRAM, and I mean TOTAL available, not the dedicated memory, and subtract 350 from it, and that is what you put in the variable setting. Now for the reserved video memory, you simply decrease or increase it in increments of 128, don't go higher than 1024 though, and no lower than 128 either! CthulhuCthulhu
Simple tip here, and I'm talking abut experience. When I first got into moddng, I jumped and installed a ton of mods, simultaneously, very bad idea, ran into bugs, and was unable to find the culprit, so if modding, install mods one by one, and see how it turns out. But back on the problem, I see you're using HDT, I've seen some posters complain about it gradually degrading performance. So before you uninstall everything, deactivate HDT first and see how it is.
