mroboto2016
I built a small house at Boston airport to try and build a settlement there, since it has a workstation for crafting. When I try to build a recruitment beacon, the option to build one is not there. Is it just not possible to put one there? I would think with the workstation there, it should be. snapper69
I don't think that you are supposed to use it as a settlement, only build the items that you beed for the quest to get into the Institute. I'm fairly sure that there's a mod to make it into a settlement.
BAV
The Airport is not usable as a settlement. The workbench is apparently different from all the others. You will need a mod to make it a settlement. This is the one I use. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4969/? A word of warning, even with nothing there the build limit is nearly maxed out and you won't be able to build much without a mod to increase the limit
JimmyRJump
Yep, just like a certain spot in Diamond City (not giving away spoilers in case you haven't been there) the Work Shop at Boston Airport doesn't have the options to add a recruitment beacon, nor to plant crops. I'm using the "Build High - Expanded Settlements" mod in combination with DDproductions' infinite budget mod to allow me to build a settlement there. The "Build High" mod doesn't expand the terrain of Boston Airport, but it adds all options to the Work Shop. Also be advised that the "Build High" mod does away with the green build limits on the 16 settlements it expands so you'll have to find the limits by trial and error, and that certain settlements become a bit large (like Jamaica Plains or Sanctuary, of which the latter's expansion includes the complete island up to the other side of the bridge to Red Rocket truck Stop, the small bridge and river North of Sanctuary and even the complete Vault 111 area). If you don't want to use the infinite budget mod, there's a work-around to get the filled bar at the top right back to a lower setting, by dropping a whole bunch of weapons, then geting into build mode and pick up the weapons by adding them to the Work Shop. Just don't forget to get them back from the workshop when done if you don't want to go into the next fight bare-fisted :whistling: Also have a look at NX Pro Farming, which has patches of farmland that can be added, even on top of concrete surfaces, to be able to plant crops at Boston Airport. In a previous game I had 49 settlers there, which was a slight bit crowded :D The latter was achieved with the "Increased Settler Population" mod, choosing the 100 settlers option. mroboto2016
Thanks. I hadn't even looked to see if I could plant crops or anything. I just wanted a beacon at a warehouse I made. I just wanted a supply line there besides the Pwyrden, so I could have materials for crafting there. I got 430 hours into this game, and I thought I was loosing it. I'll check the mods out. Thanks again.

Thanks again. The Prydwyn and Boston Airport settlement location are one and the same when it concerns a provision line. I've sent a provisioner to Boston Airport on more than one occasion in different games and when looking at the map to check provision lines, the one to Boston Airport often points to the Prydwyn. Boston Airport is in fact made-up of three different locations: the Prydwyn, Boston Airport Ruins and Boston Airport Settlement. The latter however is simply called Boston Airport which is kinda confusing...
