Would you roll your eyes to someone's face at something they said out in the real world? No? Then don't do it here.

urbex
Sucks that DICE will probably get some heat from this. EA is slowly approaching Activision status. Would you roll your eyes to someone's face at something they said out in the real world? No? Then don't do it here.Oh god...

I was actually going to buy a EA game today that wasn't on steam but when I read about that EULA I changed my mind, now I'll get the DVD in a few weeks when the price goes down. It was going to be an impulse purchase but by the time I'd looked around for the cheapest DVD retailer the impulse had gone and they'd lost a sale (for now anyway). Illiad86
With the one sad exception of buying Mass Effect from the bargain bin (and being rather ticked that I even spent $10 on that crap), EA will never get my business. They bought out Maxis and destroyed The Sims, have outrageous DRM, crappy miked out games, list goes on... NO ONE is going to use this Origin service. Steam is just fine, I don't see what their beef with it is. I just wish it went back to when you bought the damn DVD, installed the game, and you were done with it. But no, all this DRM crap, using clients for SINGLE PLAYER games...all to "prevent piracy". All this is doing is encouraging pirates to crack games...at least that's what I think. So what happens to the games you bought from EA on Steam then? Thankfully, I have none, but what about the other people that do? brokenergy
The funny thing is that the only "exclustive" title at the moment is TOR and the rest is speculation. Do you really think that EA's really stupid enough to let go 70% of digital PC sales? "Origin" is the same as battle.net for Blizzard, where people go and waste their life way with MMO's. It way come as a shock but Steam isn't great as crack up to be, it is a monopoly on the rise and if EA and other publishers want to open their own digital stores to stem the tide, they have every right to do so. What I do find the most annoying is that people seem to bang EA as if they were the "big bad guys" of the computer industry, that they are the one who are trying to "suck people's souls". Guys they are a normal company, just like everyone else and this is their way of expanding their business.

urbex
About countering piracy, steam actually serves it's role perfectly.Because it forces you to download content that isn't on the disc after purchase, they can assure games won't be cracked before their release. It's not trying to end piracy, that's virtually impossible considering it all comes down to a simple yes/no in the game .exe.
