X Box and PC - Graphics?

I see that there is a lot of discussion about how the graphics are not 100% satisfying, or that the game is a PC port. The E3 demo and all the screenshots are from the X Box version. X Box has the graphical settings fixed at about low-medium or so to make it compatible with the hardware, am I right? Not everyone can afford a $1000 PC. Isn't the PC version would look better anyway, with higher resolutions available, anti-aliasing and most importantly, ability to choose the settings? They have about 4 months or so to finish that off, if they haven't already. I'm asking that because I just saw people whining about the graphics on screenshots too much. Edited by Omeletter

Considering of what I saw on the E3 video on YouTube, the graphics still look good, I wouldn't mind if it was like that for PC as well as consoles. I am just hoping that the ability for the PC to render the graphics on the highest, and consoles could run it smoothly on their graphical level. I mean comparing a $300 or so X box, might be even cheaper, I don't know the price, to a $2000 or so PC. They deserve to run the game on their level even though it is a port.

I didn't really buy a 2000 dollar PC... It's just a comparison. My PC is about £600 or so. We brought it part by part from the internet, and then we put it together. The video card is the only thing missing, it will be ordered soon. £600 is around $966. The PC is not for gaming purposes as the first priority though.

"I'm betting you'll be able to run at max settings with a $500 PC."

It's not about that. It is about how good it can look on PC. I just don't really want to play with graphics adjusted to X Box, when we can run Crysis on full graphics and anti-aliasing. Which obviously tells you that if Skyrim keeps console graphics when it becomes available on PC's, I, or anyone else that games on PC, wouldn't get the full benefits.

I think the only difference you'll see by default is better textures, anti-aliasing and a few other features your video card can do, but nothing major.

However with mods the difference will be massive. Just look at Morrowind's graphics mods. Oblivion with a few specific mods can bring that $2000 PC to its knees and looks amazing.

Yeah, I used to run that quar texture pack before this pc I got now... I managed to take 5 screenshots on around 2 fps, lol.

I hope the PC version of skyrim would be able to do the same with my computer, as that texture pack did with my old one.

Consoles are for those who just want to play the game.

PC is for those who want to play WITH the game.

For playing the game, the console is fine. It will be reasonably stable and there will be very little stutter or slow downs - most games are locked at 30 FPS which works fine as TV and movies were also locked at 25 to 30 FPS until recently and nobody complained.

With the PC, you will see crashes, varying FPS and other problems depending on your individual system. HOWEVER, you will get FREE mods that offset those problems. You will be able to make changes to almost everything in the game. We will see people complaining that they can't get 60 FPS all of the time. We will see mods that will bring a supercomputer to a crawl and setups that will crash anything except certain systems. We will see load order and conflicting mods causing various problems. But, We own the computer and can take it apart and make it better. We can install a newer graphics card and more RAM. Nobody cares if we install a bigger hard drive or multiple hard drives. We can create mods and use mods made by other users. We can change anything about our computer that we want to. And if needs, we can even use it for something besides playing games. I have yet to see a spreadsheet or a C++ compiler run on a console.
