Soul1376
Okay, I've searched all over and can't find anything like this. I've come across a mod that uses your stamina up as you jog around, attack, etc all the usual things, but when it's empty, it doesn't force you to walk. And yeah you can play with the keyboard and mouse to toggle walk with the Caps key, but those who use a xbox controller don't have the option for a toggled walk... So.. if someone could make an MCM walk toggle option, or even an option that when your stamina hits 0, you walk until it is fully refilled. Please? Hexxagone
I dont think McM is designed to work for controllers.
Soul1376
I'm using mods that require the MCM, works just fine with a controller. basically, all that needs to be done is a script needs to be written to allow a toggle on the mod configuration menu screen to switch between walking and running. anything else can become a more complex mod~
cdcooley
Yes, using up stamina doesn't force a walk it only prevents sprinting. I don't have a gamepad, but my guess is that with a gamepad active the state of the walk toggle control is ignored anyway. A gamepad controller gives you direct control over how fast you move (in the speeds between walking and running) so it doesn't have the keyboard's simplistic toggle between those two modes. So to do this someone would have to find a way to limit the character to walking when stamina is low. The only way I can think of doing that would be to monitor stamina and manipulate the player's carry capacity or encumbrance. I see a lot of potential problems if you try to do that. You might be better off looking at a mod which alters the speed of the walk and run modes (there are a few of them all with different values so there should be one that works for you). I've modified the values in my game so that walk is slightly faster than the default and run is slower so that walk and run aren't all that different and there's a bigger gap between run and sprint. In the default game the base speeds are 80 for walk, 370 for run, and 500 for sprint. That's a pretty small difference between run and sprint compared to the one between run and walk. It makes more sense that you can walk or run with 0 stamina but can't sprint when run is closer to walking speed.
DaemonGrin
What about utilizing frost movement speed impairment once the player has 0 stamina which lasts for 10 seconds or w/e? Good luck,Geoff
Hexxagone
I thought on a gamepad, the player directly controls the walking or running? moving the joystick just a little bit makes the character walk slow, pushing the stick all the way makes the character run. Soul1376
With a controller I can control the speed at which I move, though I hate it, I'd rather the game force me to do it. Although, here's what I picture, a mod made for MCM that allows the user to Toggle Walk, or not, basically just a shortcut to the command.. like how the keyboard allows for it. It shouldn't entirely be to hard to make something similar for the controller. Pause, go to MCM, scroll to togglewalk on the list, push over, select the box, check it, boom walking only. unchecked, everything returns to the way it was, full control to user on speed. alaskamoosepied
Yes. This is exactly what I'm looking to do as well. I think it can add a lot to game atmosphere and dynamics too; like old resident evil games and such. We need a skse "Toggle Walk/Run," hotkey, or for a compromise mess around with some .ini files for desired effect.
