FavoredSoul
So i'm finally on to texturing this thing! The red and yellows are the colors used in the original image, but i'll probably change them as I don't really like them, at least the red anyway. [Game Version. 12k Triangles. Color only. No Normals. No Spec. No Gloss] Notes: - Yes the backside of the shin/boot is missing. I actually didn't model it. Something I forgot to do!- I think I might also give it an assflap (or whatever those things are called; that piece of cloth that drapes over the rear end :P )They have them on the western BH power armor and it kinda looks a bit plain without something there. That dark grey area is chainmail and technically underarmor, so we don't want to see it very much.- The original concept also had a collar where the shirt comes through around the neck. I might give it one, but am concerned it might make the guy wearing it look a little too neat. We'll see what happens. Can't wait till its done! http://www.morganfavre.com/scrap/FScolor.jpg Edited June 22, 2011 by FavoredSoul
FavoredSoul
Here's another snippet of progress. I think white's pretty good cause red and the yellow are Mcdonalds colors. lol. Right now It kind of looks like an officer-ey type uniform. Will probably look much better when its been grunged to death. If anyone's lookin on and can think of a color scheme for a Non-BoS flavor of the armor, i'm all ears. http://www.morganfavre.com/scrap/FScolorII.jpg Edited June 22, 2011 by FavoredSoul

SpeedyB64
That's looking good so far! More armor variety is always great to have.
looloolooigotsomeapples
For the non-BOS variant, perhaps a brown shirt and a yellow that's a bit desert-like? It would be cool if the metal was a bit more beat up and rusty than the BOS version, as BOS would be more likely to keep it more pristine. Looking great so far though! FavoredSoul
More progress : P About 80% done with the first round of dirt and grunge (no belts/straps, buckles, shirt or pauldrons yet). Next round is for scratches, nicks and other whatnot. Also decided to settle on Black and Gold for the colors.I also think chainmail is much better for the legs. Think the rings are a bit too large so will probably render out another pattern that's tighter knit. Getting there! Still can't wait to see this thing with some normal and spec switched on. Should be awesome! http://www.morganfavre.com/scrap/FScolorIII.jpg Edited June 23, 2011 by FavoredSoul
Glenstorm
I like to think i'm evening out the playing field regarding the lack of quality content for male PCs on this one :P Besides, I think the female version is ugly.Nice going man! Finally something for dudes to wear.

FavoredSoul
So i've had the armor in game for the past couple of days trying to tidy it up. I ended up duplicating the pauldrons cause the whole 'asymmetric' design didn't look so good. There's also a few shading flaws with the normals that I can't fix. I consider myself limited to whatever result max has given to me when I baked it. Anyways, for my first character model of any sort, it turned out as well as I should have expected.I think it looks a bit plain/bland though. Im thinking I want to give it some kind of belt/tactical gear. Come to think of it, its probably cause its not got the bracers/gloves... http://www.morganfavre.com/scrap/fsbosm3.jpg Edited June 26, 2011 by FavoredSoul
