NorthWolf Posted June 26, 2011 Share Posted June 26, 2011 I think it looks rather good. :thumbsup: The "plainness" I believe comes from the upper body; I think the texture of the armor/shirt could be a little more distinct, and maybe a little more weathered. Right now it looks relatively clean, which might make it look too plain in a very cluttered wasteland. However, opinions may differ... I love it either way! Ghogiel Posted June 26, 2011 Share Posted June 26, 2011 I ended up duplicating the pauldrons cause the whole 'asymmetric' design didn't look so good. There's also a few shading flaws with the normals that I can't fix. I consider myself limited to whatever result max has given to me when I baked it.Not max's fault about your shading error, You had control there. Max just gave you what you asked for. You just needed to use a hard edge and split UVs, or added a chamfer to give you more vertex normals so it'll bake properly... That and the spec map not really giving much material definition on the metal, are the only things letting this piece down. Otherwise it's really nice.
