NIF textures to Skyrim

So I've used GIMP to edit a DDS file and exported from GIMP and used a converter to set up the DDS file to nearly the exact specs of the previous DDS... In NIFskope the shield looks great... but in game I'm getting black, purple, and green pixalating.... PICTURES can be provided... Can anyone help me correct this? I can answer any questions, and yes... this is my first texture change.

Everything looks good in NIFskope, the only thing changed was the original DDS, I took the main image of the shield and made it a Templar shield (it's pretty awesome..), and changed the texture path under BSshaderTexture to my updated DDS.

The NIF picture is attached... looks great right? Then in game it'll be covered in mostly black, with green, purple, and blue boxes.

Help please :)

Hey Alteezy,

I'm not saying I know what the problem is or that I'll be able to help, but it would likely increase your chances of someone being able to help you if you posted a picture of what this looks like in game as well as posted a picture showing the texture paths in Nifskope.

When I mess with my textures and they dont come out right, the first thing I do is check that the nif is linked to the texture I want and that the texture is in the correct file location.

After that if there is still trouble I go into the creation kit and check to make sure it has the correct mesh files paths as well.

If there is still trouble I would recommend remaking the texture.

Since you did not state you had changed the mesh in anyway I am assuming you didnt and therefore it is safe to say your problem is file paths. If you start changing meshes then you get into a whole new ball game that I am no good at.

If you have not made a new shield in the creation kit for what you have just made, I would really recommend it. That is how you can isolate the issue.

Goodluck

I figured this, Sorry it took so long to get back. I just had to go in and assign the proper format. It's been so long and I've changed that texture so many times, I can't remember which one it works with. But I had everything set up with a templar like character that could put a historically accurate templar kite shield on his back. And then decided to re-roll a Drizzt Do-Urden type character. Thanks for the help and patience!
