Ru5tyShackleford
I am trying out the Rust Town mod, but when it is active red ! show up, outfits and pip-boy turn into them, and sounds glitch out. It seems a lot like passing the esp. limit, which I am just scraping by, however when I turn it off I can and more mods again (more than 1-2). Any idea whats going on? or how do I fix it? I use FOMOD and LOOT. Thank you for any answers in advance! Edited April 4, 2016 by RustyShackleford69
Ethreon
You're missing textures. A sign of being past the plugin limit are purple textures everywhere.
Ru5tyShackleford
I just tried re-downloading the mod, but that didn't help. The longer I play the more errors show up including flashing textures, and garbled menus. I have only seen a single purple texture so far. The errors are affecting vanilla game and other mod's content like Vurt's. It keeps happening no matter how many mods I disable, only when I disable Rust Town does it stop. My brother uses the mod too, but nothing like this happens to him. Edited April 4, 2016 by RustyShackleford69
dubiousintent
This sounds like you do not have some form of "ArchiveInvalidation" activated? (BSA Redirection is the recommended method.) Not sure if FOMM has it. Most modern managers (such as NMM, MO, and Wrye Flash) do. You can search Nexus for "archive invalidation" and find several "mods" on how to manually manage it, but using a mod manager is simply activate and forget. The whole topic of "archive invalidation" is discussed here. -Dubious- Edited April 4, 2016 by dubiousintent
M48A5
What you are experiencing with the white "!" in the red shape is the missing mesh error. It has nothing to do with the textures (missing textures are either off color or flash different colors). ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated will not correct a missing mesh, no matter how many times you toggle it. You have either installed the mod incorrectly, you have exceeded the file limit and the game engine can not handle the load or you have exceeded the computer's ability to render the game properly. Double check the installation instructions for the Rust Town mod, double check that the meshes are being installed properly and count the files being loaded so that you do not exceed 135 total files in your load order. This includes both the game files and any mod files.
Ru5tyShackleford
FOMM does have an archive invalidation tool, I am just going to try merging some of my mods together and hope that works. FOMM doesn't show how many mods I have, so hopefully that really is it. I hope it isn't my hardware, that would be depressing. Anyway, is there an easy way to change mod organizers without the uninstalling/reinstalling of all my mods? I really want to get the new profile functions, and the mod counter would be immensely helpful. Thank you for all the comments!
