Wadarkhu
Can I do that with nifskope or something? I just want to make a texture darker, or perhaps play with the color a bit too. What do I need? (Never tried to get any deeper into mods, slow and steady now. :P)
kirinann
GIMP with a .dds plugin will let you re-texture items (: http://www.gimp.org/http://code.google.com/p/gimp-dds/
Wadarkhu
Bwaah!! Already had gimp because it's awesum (don't actually remember installing it ) but how do I install that .dds plugin? I tried the .exe file but nothing happened, still can't open .dds. :turned: Also, if I want to change entire texture tone on a certain race, like skin tone, can I do it with just one file or do I have to go thru a million? (upperbody hands legs .dds tons of them :yucky:)
Wadarkhu
Can't get it to work. :|
wetblanket
Paint.net, whilst nowhere near as powerful as the Gimp, is more than capable of what you wish as well as being more user/noob friendly. More importantly, .dds support is included - no need to install a plugin.
ub3rman123
Installing the .dds thing doesn't work by running the .exe. Instead, you have to put it into the folder plug-ins at C:\Program Files (x86)\GIMP-2.0\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins Then it'll work.

My gimp is old but it's still 2.6 version. Hrrmph. I'll try that paint thing nao.
Wadarkhu
Okay, paint.NET seems great for a dummy like me, :teehee: but now I'm in a loss with the files, there's the race folder, full of .dds files, and then male/female/head folders, .dds files as well... Jeeze. O' well, I'mma start wrecking havoc, and see what happens. Backups ftw.

Woot! :teehee: Thanks a lot for all the help guys. Time to do some serious textures. :pirate:
