HOW DO I GET SLAVES IN THE FIRST MORROWIND

You don't get slaves in Morrowind as published by Bethesda indeed you usually spend time freeing them. There are mods to give you companions. There may be mods to give you slaves too for all I know. Also you don't get slaves in either of the expansions though you can get a companion to fight with you in Tribunal.

Actually, you can. The same npc who sells you the "telvani wife" for the main quest also has a few other slaves for sale. Which you can keep I guess, if you don't want to free them. Of course good luck getting them to do anything... they're not going to be much better than a temporary distraction against anything that wants you dead.

True Peregrine, but I meant useful slaves. You can pick up 'hangers on' in Tribunal and the Firemoth plug in too, should you wish (High Pockets and the Khajiit you rescue respectively) but they are equally useless.

Why do you need companions? Most people I know manage without them. But if you want a mod, look under downloads section when you first log in.

The Laura Craft mod gives you a decent companion, and I actually tried her, and she didn't get in the way, so personally I'd say she's the best one, that I've seen. You can do everything in Morrowind without a companion. I did the MQ and both x-packs with no assistance from companions, so it's not hard, or impossible. (Well ok, I had Companions in the MQ, and the x-packs when they are necessary for the quests! But other than that, no :P aka the Telvanni wife, leading to the Shrine of Death, and the smugglers)
