Vagrant0
At any rate, such a mod really work how you want, and how it would have to work is about as good as you could get by doing a damage target spell ingame. There is no such thing as a bleeding effect, you cannot create scripting which causes the blood decals to appear, you cannot create scripting which causes the appearance of physical effects, you cannot create scripting that would slow down a target. In short, damage health 20 points on target pared with damage health 5 points over 10 seconds on target is the best you're going to get, both in appearance and function. It was nice of you to inform me about that, instead of certain others did not scare people off of the fourms.
ad9582
 Ok, won't get too involved but I'd still like to know why they're "Unmentionable". And why you care so much that it was mentioned.. does it burn eyes or something? It's about the copyright. Some people (the unmentionables) hire flocks of lawyers to protect their copyright. These lawyers then cruise about looking for ANY reference to the unmentionable and when they find one they will take whatever actions are necessary to make the largest amount of money possible. For sites like this any costs associated with coping with the unmentionable's lawyers are going to hurt. So the answer to your question is ...yes, it burns.(PS I'm not a moderator or anything, I just know a little about copyright law)
Peregrine
(PS I'm not a moderator or anything, I just know a little about copyright law) No, actually you don't know anything about copyright law. Discussion of someone's intellectual property, whether it's a book, movie, etc, is not even remotely a violation of those rights. The simple fact is Dark0ne doesn't want various subjects discussed on his forums, and therefore you don't discuss them. Deal with it or leave. Deal with it or leave. While that is true, the reasons why it shouldn't be discussed seem more to do with trying to reduce the number of topics like this one where people ask for impractical things just like in some other form of media. While the names of things may be intellectual property of someone, they aren't going to run around randomly sueing people without practical reason (this isn't a whole HP mod, it's one obscure part of that world). Unless Dark0ne has been hounded by lawyers when I wasn't looking, I maintain that the rule is in place just because she's sick of seeing discussions on the subject, kinda like religion. This is a gaming site, if you're going to talk about bands, beliefs, or pop culture, there are proper places to put it and improper places. Since often people who want to talk about this series of books, or those bands aren't familiar with those proper places, it's just easier to ask them to take their discussions elsewhere where people might actually give a poo. At any rate, rather than arguing the specifics of a rule, which should probably be the task of moderators, you could have simply pointed out the multiple technical flaws of the idea and been done with it. I know it's asking alot, but sometimes the best way to handle annoyances like this is to just ignore them or wait till someone else comes along and sets them straight. Unfortunately, your methods usually result in people getting upset, distracted from the topic (like now), or just making fools of themselves. I'm not trying to tell you what to do, but you do have a way of making a situation worse. or atleast more hostile.

B) Just rename the spell name from "Sectusempra" to "Sectusempa" and it has nothing to do with Harry Potter. :P
