How big is the chance that the game will be delayed?

I'm sure there are more people than me that on a daily basis check in with what's new with Skyrim, check on whatever updates there's been. And recently it said some saint game as well as Skyrim are at the biggest risk of being delayed. It only said that the saint whatever game was 10 % of being delayed, and it was just some guys take on it so he could be mistaken. Does anyone know what reason there is to think that Skyrim could be delayed? Was Oblivion, Fallout 3, Morrowind, New Vegas delayed?

Before this update with the guy saying there's a risk, I'd say just by looking that it would seem very odd if Skyrim didn't keep it's 11/11/11 released date. Seriously, they've been preaching that date for a long time now and it would confuse the hell out of everyone if it was to be post-poned. Who would dare to mess with releasing it 11/11/11? Remember when the remake of Omen came out in 06/6/6? What if they just post-poned that?

So would anyone dare to estimate a guess on how big the chance, perhaps even in percentage that the game gets put off? The guy in the article said something like february. Holy dogf*#@, no way I'm waiting that long, let me tell you that. I'll start sabotaging real life sawmills instaed of Skyrim ones if they don't release it at the expected date.

Better a delay than too hasty...

Agreed. I've come to consider delays to be a good thing, at least for A-list titles that are guaranteed not to turn into vaporware. The longer it stays in development, the longer they've got to hammer out bugs that might hurt the game post-release. Besides, it's not as if there aren't plenty of games to play in the meantime. Release dates are not deadlines, nor should they be. Quality cannot be rushed.

That's hard to believe.

Todd already stated several times that they are very sure with the 11.11.11 release date, and I believe that 5 years of development is enough, and the game looks very finished in the gameplay videos, so now they are probably bug killing, and refining/finishing stuff.

Besides dates, if it has to be delayed, then it should, I would rather have a almost perfect game later, then a very buggy game early.

An absolute nightmare would be a console release and a PC delay, like with AC games. I hate that, when I want to know something about the game, it mostly spoils the story, like a random guy did with AC:B, and my ending was ruined.

If they need to delay it, I want them to delay it. I don't want to get some random issue with the game or incomplete quest line on release.

I'm afraid to say I want them to work like Blizzard, and not hurt the quality of a game by hitting a window for release. My problem being Blizz probably won't give us D3 till 2013-15 even though they've shoved it in our faces for years.

D3 beta will be in fall, so i dont see it coming 2013. it'll be released in 2012

The chance of a delay is miniscule. The game is almost done, they're using the rest of the time to add features/fix bugs (Probably more of the former than the latter). They said earlier they gave themselves a lot of leeway with 11/11/11, so it's like a built in delay anyways.

Be wary of bad language OP. You'll get a strike or maybe even a ban. As to everything else. I don't think it'll be delayed. As most of said, 5 years of production is enough...and even if it does get pushed back a few weeks or whatever. it is far better to have a complete bug-less game two weeks later than a buggy game.
