Fatalmasterpiece
I would tend to agree but why are blow torches scrappable for oil in game? Misconception by the devs. Blow torches are fairly simple devices. You may be right, I've used them plenty of time myself in the garage, both propane torches and map gas for loosening up bolts etc. I just assumed that the Fallout universe has some special kind of torches which operate on oil/petrol. JuJooGuppy
I was pretty sure the lore stated that, while the nuclear power sources were obviously primary, that fossil fuels were still a thing. Infact, I feel like I remember reading that due to the insane costs and the prices going up on stuff, that fossil fuel tech was actually a cheap alternative that was becoming more popular just before the bombs dropped. I could be wrong here, but I swear I read it some where.

Thaneize
IMO Survival Mode should add such functionality because reasons, anything else doesn't need that type of micromanagement, but well i am just waiting for a "Project Nevada" type of mod for FO4 where you balance everything as you see fit. PoliteRaider
i was just thinking that in Survival the Generators should need Fuel.i mean ... an endless resource in Survival? The Fusion Generators should need Fusion Cores and after a period of time they should be empty and the connectet things shut down. The other ones should need flamer fuel or oil from junk what do u think? I'm not sure. While I definitely think that they should require some sort of fuel, it's frustrating though when the player would be stuck doing all this personally. I'd want the settlers to do some of this themselves.
minngarm
I'll do a mod adding water requirements to the fusion generator. But the fuel for the combustions is tricky with the limited supply.
mwhenry16
Yes, but. Yes they should need fuel, but it shouldn't be impossible or too easy to get.
Bisaflor
When you start a new game with a new Settlement is could be hard to get enough fuel, but you cant build many things at this Point anyway. But dont Forget the Wind Turbines. They dont need Anything to give Power and i think no one really builds them because of the size. Later you can build several Scrapping Stations to get Junk. I Have 6 of them in my non Survival save to Keep all Settlers busy. Its not impossible to get oil but it Forces the Player to loot more Junk and to look clearly around when he is traveling. And you need to spend more caps when you buy oil at some trades or thinks which can scrapped to oil. Later you build the Fusion Generators and dont need the other ones anymore (i guess). The Fusion Cores can be found in Ammo Crates from several Automatrons and every Weapon Trader. i guess with some balancings on the Generators and the junk it should be possible. But it should only be in Survival. Im Level 61 in Survival now and have 89 Fusion Cores and over 30k caps.Okay i dont have Settlements now because of missing mods. But with this amount of Cores and caps to buy them, i could run them untill Fallout 5 comes out. Fatalmasterpiece
Unlocking generators (besides wind and fusion) could require a fuel depot be built which a settler must be assigned to. The depot could be a 2x2 tile with some bio-diesel gear on it (chem station, ears of corn, etc).
minngarm
Got it! Can make them take damage when on over time, and require a repair after awhile.
