As i feared, Peregrine has misinterpreted my words. what i said was said as a suggestion to perhaps allow DrakOne to appease all of the unsettled members of this forum. i never stated that free speech "should" exist in this forum. i merely stated that it does. i never once expressed any personal opinion that i hold. i stated that yes, some people may leave if the Admin and Mods become too harsh. i did not say that they are. i happen to like a couple moderators. others, well, are not so "agreeable". but that is again human nture. people with disagree, and agree. people will like each other and some will hate each other. all i posted before were suggestions to Dark0ne. if he follows them, fine. if he doesnt, then thats his choice, it is his forum after all. In my personal opinion, i find that i do not know Dark0ne, and have never had any interaction with him, so i can in no way have a valid opinion one way or the other. as for the Mods i have had interaction with, some are quite nice, while a couple are 'preoccupied' with their duties. but that is fine by me, as peregrine said, if we dont like it we can leave. the choice is ours.

Public Forum = NO registration.

 

Private Forum = REQUIRES registration, with a ToS that detail the rules of the private facility.

 

This is a PRIVATE forum.

 

It does NOT have free speech.

 

You piss off the admin or the mods and you have consequences to deal with.

 

You break the ToS and you have consequences to deal with.

Ok, its seems there's been a huge flare-up over this while ive been gone.

 

Firstly hats off to Proxis and Dradum_Fairoak(and anyone else) for having thier heads screwed on straight and defending what i was saying.

 

A message to Dark0ne: You are, in fact, correct that i cannot back-up my allegations with evidence, such evidense is hard to find when its about two forums at "war" with each other, even if i could find a picture, or qoute, you could just say that i made it up, so therefore no, i do not have evidence.

 

You may be correct in saying that the Dark0ne i am talking about is a differant one, this i also highly doubt, people dont copy other peoples names and the liklyhood that two people have the same name and are both experianced in moderating is pretty slim in todays morrowind forum world.

 

Beside's, surely you remember my good friend, and ally: AngryMutantPenguin?

 

Maybe you also remember the Cult Of Sheogorath Forums that ate up most of youir members from your crappy forum, what was it?, oh yes "The Elder Scrolls Forums"---such an original name.

 

You even sent me an E-mail, saying how you were gonna " rip apart the sheogorath forum" " hack it" and " put a virus" in it.

 

Also to further add to my argument that you are the same Dark0ne, that i am thinking of, looking at your profile it says that you are located in England, well just so happens that the Dark0ne i speak of was also located in England.

I think its important to realise that I am only human. Sure I may have a Dark Throne in the IRC room, an evil general, a banana pie chef, an annoying bat named Theta whom I can't remove from my ceilling and numerous other minions (not to mention the Stone Statue of Daerk: Silence +3 on the rare occasions I pop in to say hello!).

 

Admitedly I haven't quite been myself recently, through no fault of anyone here yet some of the people who have known me a long while have noticed this, and have still managed to support me in this thread. For that I thank them.

 

Proxis mentioned that it would be foolish to run this site exactly as I want it. To that I answer I DO run this site EXACTLY how I want it. Make no mistakes, what you see infront of you is what I want, it is under control and the moderators manage to do an amazing job in keeping it like this, even though they may not totally agree with me on most matters.

 

I'm open to people telling me what they think needs to change, what the problems are and who they dislike. But if you get a it shoved back in your face (or maybe a lower abdominal area) don't start getting upset.

 

These forums are a far cry from the old Morrowind Chronicles Forums which can be looked back on with much nostalgia (and I know many of the veterans here do), but at the risk of having my head lopped off for quoting Gandalf from the LotR movies, we've got to make do with what we're given in our time. We're trying to make these forums as good as they can be for our style - our style isn't amatuer or childish (which has obviously got to some people who've come here expecting trolling and flaming to be the norm).

 

If you don't like it here, we're not forcing you to stay. I'd think any maginally perceptive and intelligent person on these forums would notice my recent brash nature and would have steered clear of confronting me. I couldn't give a crap about what the majority think of me; if you want to stay on these forums I'd just be worried about what I think of you. Rarely do people impress me, and those who do have ended up becoming moderators and some of my closest friends on the net.

 

Know this: I'm not changing for anyone unless I see fit.

Never owned a forum called "The Elder Scrolls Forums". Morrowind Chronicles was my creation, now Morrowind Source. There are many here who will be able to vouch for the 2 years the Morrowind Chronicles Forums were up, and the fact we had over 2,000 members at one point...we've never had problems with any other website. I know nothing of what you talk, whether it be a figment of your deluded mind or another Dark0ne (although you spell it Dark0ne (with an "o" rather than a zero) which could mean something to you.

 

I'd also say I couldn't give a damn if you were taking members from my forum, I mean, I'll give you 15,000 members if you like? If all this is about is pathetic website rivalry I really couldn't give a damn, Morrowind Source is one of the largest sites in the Morrowind community which has had the backing of Pete Hines and the Bethesda crew from the very beginning. I doubt I'd care if someone came to me telling me they'd stolen some of my members. My aim is to create a community for Morrowind modders and players to converse and meet, not to challenge other Morrowind sites in an imaginary boxing ring.

 

Once again I request proof before you go trying to blacken my name, it is a weak argument indeed if you fail to bring up one piece of evidence. Fact is, if I really wanted to shut you up you'd get a full IP ban, then you wouldn't be able to repost at all.

 

Think about it before you start typing again. Quite frankly I find trying to explain myself to you somewhat menial. Excuse me if I take it with a pinch of salt and tongue in cheek.

I mean typically people refrain from calling someone a bad name, unless they've got proof. You wouldn't walk down the street and call a person an idiot, just because they could be, would you?

As Daerk has stated this is a private forum and Freedom of speech doesnt apply. Mods and admins lock threads because they are spam or break the TOS. People get banned because they have broken the rules 1 too many times. These forums IMHO are one of the best and most organised around compared to the chaos on someothers where spam is posted every 3rd post. If you have a problem with these forums leave... simple as that.
