Fatalmasterpiece
the other one has a bad attitude, is super defensive over anything you tell her to do, and for the most part doesn't even like you. People will hate my mod, but I don't care. So you've managed to recreate an ingame version of my last two real life relationships? Great...
Caspella
They are basically going to be the two worst companions ever. One is an overly sarcastic jerk with a short attention span and a busy life that doesn't revolve around you, and the other one has a bad attitude, is super defensive over anything you tell her to do, and for the most part doesn't even like you. People will hate my mod, but I don't care. I don't know. People like things that feel real in video games. I think you'll find a sizeable audience. I'll certainly try it, but then I love sarcastic assholes! But you didn't say, are they going to be romanceable? I really enjoyed a companion mod in Skyrim for a healer guy with a ton of awesome dialogue and he was romanceable in a much more organic way. I'm wanting to make some mods for the existing companions that make them feel more real. I had a similar thought about them needing to go off on their own sometimes. Existing companions are kind of limited by dialogue, but I thought maybe I could have you wake up from sleeping and find a note. I wanted some of those notes to be quest starters. Like one I was thinking of was you wake up one day to find a note from Cait that she has gone to help an old friend of hers from her fighting days. And then you go off to help her. It's just a matter of whether I can learn to use the GECK well enough to make what I want to make. Because what I want to make is an underground fighting arena, where you have to actually fight and win against increasingly difficult opponents. So you fight for your freedom and you win but then they want to keep all three of you as fighters instead of letting you go as agreed on. Then you, Cait and her friend just murder your way out of tons of Raiders. I have outlines written for about half the companions, some quests being harder than others to make. All quests are meant to focus on issues the companions have (psychologically) to give them more depth. It might take me a long time given that I only made the simplest of companion tweaks for Skyrim. But anyway, your mod sounds great and this is why I'm most excited about companion mods when the GECK gets here!

Cal isn't as complicated emotionally as my other companion, just very independent for an npc. He isn't like Preston who just sits back and lets the Sole Survivor take over and do everything, Cal does every bit as much in the story as the player. He is more like that friend in every group that wants to help 'set you up' with women, men, or deathclaw that he meets along the way.
Moraelin
In the meantime, you know who I wish I could romance? Ada. And I don't even just mean those shapely assaultron legs that go all the way up... mmm... wait, what was I talking about? But she's the only one who really understands me. She's always so supportive, you know? No matter what I do or say, she just gets me, man. I want to marry her. And we could raise a little borg kid or something. Or synth, I suppose.
