Raella69
yeah this video card, is it any good for the price it is listed at? I heard the Battlefield 3 at E3 was running on this so maybe it's good.
Ghogiel
well yeah it's good Basically the best pound for pound GPU going. I suppose the price is decent for what it is. I mean to actually get better performance than that thing offers, you basically have to go SLI. Which is costly in itself because you'd need something with at least 2GB of ram for it to offer what that can offer.. in terms of 3d gaming or multi monitor. hector530
unless youre going for multi monitors stick with the 1.5 gb
Raella69
Why 1.5? Wouldn't 3 be much better?
Vecna6667
Why 1.5? Wouldn't 3 be much better? He means that unless you are using a multi-monitor setup or resolutions greater than 1920X1080, you won't see better performance and a 1.5GB video card will be more than enough. In terms of multi-monitor setups, the Radeon HD 6990 is top dog with eyefinity support.
hector530
Why 1.5? Wouldn't 3 be much better? not really very few games need more then a 1gig. more memory doesn't improve performance much if any. even if you run dual monitor a 1.5 gb 580 will still do just fine. just look at this the 3bg is getting the same fps as the normal 1.5 580 http://www.guru3d.com/article/msi-geforce-gtx-580-lightning-xtreme-edition-review/14 Edited July 5, 2011 by hector530
