DarkXessZ
I was able to fix my crash upon starting new game. I was able to play for a while, but now i got this crash upon exiting sewers. I was wondering what is it up. I tried to fix it by turning off pusewatershader. Tried to use Windom Earle_s Oblivion Crash Prevention System. Tried turning off Fransceco optional stuff. Tried lowering my resolutions. Tried turning off distant lands. Nothing worked so far. BTW: i pass on the system requirements except the windows 7 thing, which i get is this:OSMinimum: Windows 2000/XP/XP 64-bitYou Have: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit Unfortunately Windows 7 was not available when this product was released, so it is not OFFICIALLY supported. In some cases if the product runs on Windows Vista, it may also run on Windows 7. Please review the publisher’s website for more information. BarefootWarrior
Interesting. If I read this right, you have Win7 / 64 bit Ultimate? If so, then Oblivion installed as a 32 bit program, which is fine. But, with Win 7 / 64 bit Ultimate, you should have the 'Virtual XP' option included. If not, you can download it free from MS. I installed Oblivion in the 'Virtual XP' and it runs fine, just like it was in an Win XP environment. have you tried this by chance? Some folks don't know that Win 7 64 bit Ultimate includes the Virtual Win XP, but it is a download. It has been quite handy for me to run older games and applications that I used with XP.
bben46
Win7 x64 works just fine with no virtuilization or compatability settings. Thousands of people - including me have been using it since Win7 came out with no problems at all. In fact - It runs much better than it did on the original WinXP 32 bit. Unfortunately Windows 7 was not available when this product was released, so it is not OFFICIALLY supported. In some cases if the product runs on Windows Vista, it may also run on Windows 7. Please review the publisher’s website for more information. This is just a legal disclaimer - Bethsoft did not test using either Vista or Win7 - However, both will play the game fine - You will have to look elsewhere for the problem. There is a huge jump in video requirement when you exit the sewer. That may be a hint. You do have a lot of visual enhancement mods running. Be sure you have a solid save just before exiting for troubleshooting. Make several new saves there in case one gets broken by testing. Here is a troubleshooting suggestion - see if you can exit in the vanilla game - No mods installed, not just disabled.Bben's Oblivion Revert to Vanilla gameWIKI http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Revert_to_vanilla_data

Also some bushes. (btw i am using someone elses save) Also the characters. I am able to exit out of the vanilla game without any crashes.
bben46
If a texture is missing, but the Mesh is present, then the object turns a nice lavender shade of purple. The vanilla Textures are all included in the vanilla BSA files that are loaded when you install the game. If you are using the revert to vanilla data list, then I suspect you may have a problem with one of the vanilla BSA files. OR, some mod has changed yours. Mods should NEVER make changes to the vanilla BSA files as that can cause problems that will require a full uninstall/reinstall to fix. Any textures put in by a mod should be in the Textures folder in the data folder - which does not exist in the vanilla game before adding. OR, in that mod's own BSA file, and NEVER in the Vanilla BSAs Here is a link to my complete uninstall/reinstall procedure located in the WIKI section of the Nexushttp://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Oblivion_reinstall_procedure It allows you to preserve any saves and mods, or remove them completely - your choice. bben46
If you are safely out of the sewer, the real game starts. The sewer is kind of like a tutorial to teach you how to play. Now you do whatever you want to. If you don't want to you don't even have to follow the main quest at all - there is no penalty for that. Most people seem to swim across the lake and check out the ruin over there - but watch out for the bandits that are camped there.

bben46
Sorry. First, make a new save. Now start putting in one mod at a time and testing each one. As soon as you start seeing problems, try using BOSS to set load order. If you cannot fix it by changing load order, remove the last mod and test to be sure it works, then try another mod. When you have a working game with all but those mods that cause problems, then you can make the decision whether to live without those or continue troubleshooting if you can't. Not every mod is going to be compatable with every other mod no matter what you do.
Striker879
Add your mods one at a time, or for mods that come with additional compatibility patches, in related groups. Test between to confirm no problems before adding more. Makes troubleshooting a breeze when you add a mod that breaks the game.
