Adding Weapons - Tutorials?

"I tried to add a new weapon. I copied the assault rifle as a template, because it is the closest thing to my weapon that I want to add. Then I changed the Model to my own model I modded via nifskope, but when I tried it ingame I got a CTD. I then tried to replace the vanilla Assault rifle nif with my own nif, and this didn't ctd, so I'm think it wouldn't be the nif itself."

This is fantastic, how do you even get here? because I don't have any clue on how to get my weapons into game, or how to use an in game weapon as a base to see if it works, so like I asked 4 millenia ago. How do I do all of this? because I'm pretty sure, really sure that Fallout 4 is very different to other games such as a New Vegas, which doesn't have customization and crafting as an aspect.

After this, you should remplace the "reference" model with yours (copy brunch/remove brunch)

By using fo4edit to create a new mod. (And for that there are plenty of tutorials out there.)

And actually the esp/esm part is very similar to any Bethesda game, at least when not using the official tools. The differences are only in the details, and it's all in there already...copy and modify, find what references what to find everything else a weapon record is dependent on.

Hi again, from what I have learned from modding other bethesda games:

First you should have a weapon to get in game, next, think about a weapon from the game that is similar to yours. Import that weapon files from the game, you´ll obatin a .nif file.

In your 3d modelling software match the vanilla weapon parts to yours and fit your weapon with the vanilla one, after that, export your weapon to .nif. I don´t know how but you should modify it in nifskope.

Once ya have your nifskope file, place it in your game folder,(program files(x86)...) creating new carpets for your mods, you´ll need at least one for the model (.nif file) another one for the textures (.dds)

and finally another for the material (.bgsm) the rest is FO4edit or GECK/CK.

Look at this tutorials from youtube, maybe it would help ya.

I recognize that my attitude was not the correct.

Esp/Esm?????

Really, I mean that in the best way possible, but you really should start at the very basics, before thinking about modding yourselfes. It seems you are missing the very basics. Maybe start by watching Gophers Videos about installing mods etc and go from there. I personally see no way of helping you getting started with modding, when you don't even know about esp and esm files.
