deadfables
When looking at a category for types of mods (example: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/cat.php?id=56), we have the option to organize the category listing. The default is set to Name - Ascending, which I almost always change to Endorsements - Descending. Is there a way to get the site to remember this preference and use it as the default? If not, I think it would be a useful feature to implement.
KDStudios
Doing that will cause people to only find the most popular/most endorsed mods. That's hardly fair on the rest of the modding community?A lot of people wouldn't get noticed if it were that way. I understand your point, but I think that allowing it to be saved as a preference would still be beneficial. And just to play devil's advocate, if giving exposure to new mods is the ultimate goal of the system, why not have the default order be according to creation date? KDStudios
Because it's not the ultimate goal :3I was just thinking of fairness really.
hoofhearted4
i dont think hes saying that should be the default options, hes saying, that ppl should be able to choose their default option. everyone would be different, some getting the most popular mods, some getting new mods, and what have you. i like this idea. BlackRampage
And just to play devil's advocate, if giving exposure to new mods is the ultimate goal of the system, why not have the default order be according to creation date?Do you not think that would make it quite messy? I do not think giving exposure to new mods is the ultimate goal of the system. Besides, every single new file that gets uploaded already gets exposure by showing up under, for example: Latest files not only that, but it also shows up on the main page too. Also, I'd say the default setting seem the most logical to me. One doesn't order a library by books which are most read either, does one? That aside, I do also usually find myself sorting the mods by endorsements most of the time.
