Making a pose

hai guys

dont know if this the correct place for this...

i tried to follow this tutorial by c2552 for making poses, but i stuck when it comes to step 7

"So copy and paste the FO3 example from the ReadMe (kfupdater -p 50 -v 20.2.0.7 -u 11 -u2 34 -i blockidle.kf -o blockidle-out.kf) and replace the input file with your pose and the output with the filename you want the final pose to have. (e.g. a prefix for all your poses + a descriptive name.) "

how exactly i do that ?, cause command prompt not really my thing...so i just skip it, i rework the kf file like step 8, than i simply rewrite one of the backsteppo pose to see if it work ingame and it work fine but the pose seems to work only for a few seconds than back to idle not like any other poses from backsteppo that have to be reset with player.playidle reset on console to get it back to idle, so i guess it have something to do with the step 7 that i skipped..any help will be appreciated..

thanks in advance

Down in the block details panel, you have to change that number I've highlighted. That should make the animation 'permanent'.

What exactly don't you understand about command prompt? :x If, for example, kfupdater is in C:\users\Odile\kf, open cmd and make sure it's pointing to the kf folder (if it were just at C:\users\Odile, key in 'cd kf' and it'll point to the kf file now). Make sure you put your pose file in the same folder as the kfupdater. in cmd paste in the "kfupdater -p 50 -v 20.2.0.7 -u 11 -u2 34 -i ORIGINALPOSENAME.kf -o WHATYOUWANTITTOBE.kf" It's easy-peasy.

The kfupdater changes the nif..er kf version of kf files. It was originally developed so people could use the civ nif exporter, which outputs a similar but one below the oblivion kf format. You could in theory use it to change oblivion kfs into fallout kfs.

It also allows you to give all the bone priorities in the kf a set number... which there could be a couple dozen to go through and set by hand in a single anim. Though you will likely want to go back and hand edit some of those priorities if the animation is part of a set.

It might do other stuff as well. But afaik it was originally intended for max users using the civ4 plugin
