What could be the problem (graphics + crashing)

Spawn2007: You hear a ding?--I wonder do you have WOCPS. Wendam (spell check plz o_O ) Oblivion Crash Prevention System sounds off whenever it detects and halts some of the more common oblivion engine code that causes CTDs. If you do have this installed, check your Oblivion folder, and subfolders I forget which, for WOCPS log and post it. If you have STreamline installed, and have autosave enabled...THIS then could be the ding. In the Oblivion\Data\Streamline\INI files\sl.ini there is settings to make more secure and stable autosaving:

I hope that helps.

Also, drop WeOCPS unless you really need it, seriously. I haven't heard of the sound during a StreamSave causing an issue on Windows 7. I haven't crashed on a StreamSave in a long time. My last crash on StreamSave was early on, while I was still running Windows XP. My SL INI is adjusted as well, but I didn't bother with turning off that feature.

And also, turn off AllowScriptedAutosave.

Edit: Oh, you were talking about the WeOCPS sounds. Huh, maybe that's what caused my crashes with it. I still don't think it's at all necessary though...

WeOCPS has now been deleted.

I dont have streamline installed, but as i say everything appears to be running well. Just need to test it some more when i have time.

If i still have any problems im just going to go for anoter re-install, thanks to Tomlong i now have some valuable links to help me do a FCOM only setup, and i now feel confident enough that it will be done properly. Then ill add one by one my other mods, testing them for compatability.

Thank you again, ill test again this week and update on how its all going at the weekend (if you would like me to?).

That sounds good, especially if you do end up using my site. I'd love to hear any feedback, good or bad, so that I can improve it.

Also, I recommend installing Streamline. There's a page about how to configure it on my site, if and when you do.

Happy gaming!

Wont get it dont till the weekend though, so ill report back when im done.

Thank you again for all your help. Also any other tips feel free to post them.

All right. That sounds kind of unfortunate, but I hope the rebuild goes well. I'm still browsing the forums. I just won't be able to spend as much time online here during the week.

Nice, TomLong...I am was trying to suggest a fix for a hypothetical existence of Streamline or WeOCPS. IF Streamline is installed and using those settings, then turn ON ScriptedAutoSave in the Oblivion.INI so that Streamline Can actually MAKE the autosaves. o_O

His specs suggested he is using a LOW-END cpu (1500-1600 mhz)...oh forget it.

You don't need to turn on scripted autosave for Streamline to work. I've been using it for almost four years, and I keep that setting off (set to 0). Those settings have nothig to do with Streamline's functionality.

@Spawn2007

Edit: This sounds really cheesy, but I'm kind of proud of the progress you've made. Your load order looks beautiful, ha-ha.

Edit: I'd only recommend installing the USIP from the Unofficial Oblivion Patch Supplementals package on top of the old v1.4.0 USIP.

Yeah its a lot better now i have a very informative guide (plus a whole website of help) so a big thank you for making and sharing it.

So for the Unofficial Oblivion Patch Supplementals, only use the SI patch and use the unofficial official mods patch for the DLC's? I'll do that soon, plus rebuild my patch (am i right in thinking i have to re-build after every mod added/changed?).

Next up is a long play-test before adding my other mods.

Again thanks a million, couldn't have done it without your help

oh one last thing, the .omods that are created in the obmm/mods folder, am i right in thinking if i screw up i could use those instead of re-making them in the future??
