PoliteRaider
Also, this is a great article to read to help you with getting the mods running properly. (Just the first post, the rest is individual discussions, replies, etc.) http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3767665-ten-rules-to-get-a-mod-setup-with-a-lot-of-workshop-crafting-mods-to-work/
yzerman19
I am also amazed by some of these gigantic settlements that are shown on you tube. But I have less of a designing background, so I am taking it slow. My latest Sanctuary has a huge brick wall surrounding it, courtesy of Homemaker. I stripped all the vanilla buildings, plants, and rocks...but I did not go far from the vanilla yellow boundary, because I use a mod called SCRAP EVERYTHING that screws the visual up if you go too far. I also moved the one work table that was near the boundary to the more central area. And I built a sizeable home with a porch at the top where you can look down on the workbench area. I am not playing cheat style to never run out of stuff, so I actually have to go explore. Also, I am playing Survival...talk about did it change my play style...no more go run out and kill everything...I now have to sneak and use different battle tactics. Lastly, I put my monitor to darker, and that really has made the game more realistic than ever...I can't see things so easily now.
crawe1x
I think DDProductions' Infinite Settlement Budget mod is also key. It won't help with snapping stuff together, but it will allow you to keep on building (until the game bugs out or your computer crashes).
