Bboy207
Hello I am great fan of skyrim and last week i realized i haven't played in 2 years. so i reinstalled the game and started to set up my mods. i started my play through fine. i got a few hours in and i was resting in the Barnard mare and when i went to exit the next morning it ctd when trying to load into white run. now like all modded playthroughs i had some crashing every once and awhile so i just tried to reload and try again. that didn't work and it has now been 2 days of me editing my mods trying to find out what is wrong. I have the newest version of skse so it isn't that my load order 0 0 Skyrim.esm 1 1 Update.esm 2 2 Dawnguard.esm 3 3 HearthFires.esm 4 4 Dragonborn.esm 5 5 Wyrmstooth.esp 6 6 Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.esp 7 7 notice board.esp 8 8 RSkyrimChildren.esm 9 9 Lanterns Of Skyrim - AnubisEnsho
You should probably use LOOT and Wyre Bash if you aren't already. From what I understand LOOT places the mods in the best possible order while Wyre Bash lets them work together easier. Bboy207
i just got raged and deleted my saves. I wasn't that far anyways. tomorrow i will try to start a new game and see what happens. my leading theory is i changed some mods up after i started and maybe the game couldn't handle that. jones177
Hi You probably need the skse memory patch to get through the door. Before the patch came out Whiterun was a no go area in my game in the morning & early evening. Too many NPC moving about. The patch & a 4gb video card allows me to have as many NPCs as I want. A cell can go bad for up to 3 game days so you may want to rent a bed. Your NPC spawning mods are the culprits if that works. Skyrim Immersive Creatures dose it in my game. When it happens outside just walk the other way. Sometimes using the console command coc is the only way out. I usually use coc riverwood. Shouldn't have deleted your saves. These things have a way of working themselves out in the end. They have always worked out for me. Later
JWMcQuire
This may or may not fix your issue but besides the other suggestions, I noticed that you have Wyrmstooth.esp before Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.esp. The patch should immediately follow the DLCs then all other mods added in whatever order their authors, Loot or Boss suggest is best. Here is a quote from the Wyrmstooth Readme which you can access through a clickable link from the Wyrmstooth Description page. "Always make sure Wyrmstooth is loaded AFTER the official DLC and unofficial patches." Also from the readme, "When in doubt, load it as the last master file in your load list." I need to add though that if you do use Wrye Bash as suggested, make sure your bashed patch is very last in your load order. Also, if Loot sorted Wyrmstooth before the patch, edit the metadata in Loot to force it to sort Wyrmstooth after the patch. Finally I agree with jones177. Even with all the other suggestions, you still probably need to install the SKSE memory patch to get through the door. Good luck, I hope you get this issue resolved. Bboy207
i tried restarting and installing the memory patch but only forums came up expect this https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/51038/? so I downloaded it which i feel like didn't help much. now i am still crashing on this new character, but only when i go near areas containing a town/city for example i am trying to get to the city of north guard past half-moon mill and i am fine around the mill and the nearby forest, but once i get to the edge of the town i crash. i am really frustrated, but i do not want to give up yet. Ps: I did change my load order so the unofficial patch is before wyrmstooth Edited April 27, 2016 by Bboy207
JWMcQuire
Ok, so Skyrim starts, is playable until you get to certain areas, then you crash. While you already are doing this, I suggest you make sure you start Skyrim using the SKSE launcher. Try this, go to your "SKSE" folder in your Skyrim/Data folder and open the Skse.ini file. Delete or change the following line. Delete this, [Display]ITintTextureResolution=2048 or lower the number to 1024 or 768 to see if that helps. Remember the prettier you make your game using graphics edits and environmental mods, the harder the game is on your computer's resources dropping your fps and causing other potential issues like you're experiencing. In case these suggestions don't help, try the following. You will want to download Wrye Bash, install it and create a bashed patch which will merge mods that will play better together when merged and perform other improvements which may help. You can find it here at: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1840/? You'll want to download the 306 installer. It is a standalone executable that will install Wrye Bash for you. Only two minor league virus checkers on virus total flagged it but it is absolutely safe to use. Before or after installing Wrye Bash, take the time to read up on how to use it, but in short your main concern is to find the bashed patch it creates, right click on and choose "Rebuild Patch". Then let it go to work, any mods it wants to merge will have to be disabled, so let it do that when it asks. To familiarize yourself with it before letting it finish is to look through the list of changes it makes. When it is finished, just tick the box next to the newly rebuilt patch to enable it, run Loot to resort your load order and see if that fixes your issue. For better information on modding, I suggest gromulos' "Beginner's guide to modding" which is located at, http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2235394-beginners-guide-to-modding/. Even though it states that it is for beginners, I think it would be very helpful as gromulos lays out the best way I believe to mod your game. Now if you try all these suggestions, with no success, then I can only suggest starting a modless game only activating the dlcs and unofficial patch. Then after finishing Helgen begin installing your mods one by one making a new (not quick) save before each install until you find the mod that causes the crashing. This is usually the best and most helpful suggestion for many computer issues almost from day 1, but I have found in gaming that other methods should be used first with this being last resort before complete removal and reinsall of the game or program having problems. Finally, if at all possible with such a heavily modded game (and even less modded) try to avoid using quicksave except before encounters that you may want do a quick reload on when things start going south, then delete the quicksave until the next time you need it. Also disable Autosave and get into the practice of only doing manual saves. Skyrim doesn't appear to handle auto and quick saves well which can cause save bloat which intern can cause other issues. Anyway, sorry for the long long long post. I hope some of this helps. I think this is the best I can offer for help and hope someone with more knowledge and experience can take ti from here if you try all the suggestions I posted without success. Good luck. Edited April 27, 2016 by JWMcQuire
JWMcQuire
... one more thing..... Go through the descriptions and posts of the mods you use to see if anyone has posted crash related issues with any of the mods you use. This probably should have been your first step. Good luck. :)
laiilaiiheii
So you added 170 mods without any testing in between? Can be a great number of things. I hope it's one of the easier solutions like setting skse up. If there is a mod that makes these crashes it'l be hard to find out which one. Also do more research before installing mods.I can see a couple of mods that will mess up your game after a long play session. And you can't just uninstall them on your play-trough then! One of the mods you should avoid is deadly combat.. To name just one among others you use that are confirmed to mess up your game by a great deal of users, on many forums, sometimes even described on the front page + not even supported anymore. You don't use wrye bash you say. That's another thing where you fall short, since you can merge files, ghost esps and tweak ingame settings like alarm distance and timescale with it.Some mods like Legacy of the dragonborn even insist to rebuild a bash patch after it. Seriously. Do your research  Edited April 27, 2016 by laiilaiiheii
