  1. In response to post #55555733. #55556463, #55562434, #55563134, #55566989 are all replies on the same post. I have to say I agree with this myself. So I just keep the old site links favorited in hopes the new site design might be redirected toward a more visual-friendly look with an ease-of-navigation format like the old site now provides.
  2. Sorry, my suggestion didn't work. I will eventually be moving everything to my desktop where I'll be installing on a different HD instead of the c: drive. Maybe then, I'll be able to see how to set up Loot for that without editing any files. :-)
  3. Is it possible you need to disable pop-ups in your browser?
  4. I went to see if I could download NMM and got a pop-up message stating that they are having problems with their download site. The pop-up includes a direct link you can click to download the manager. For your convenience, I am posting it in this reply so you can give it a try. http://nmm.nexusmods.com/Releases/4.5/Nexus%20Mod%20Manager-0.61.23.exe I hope this helps.
  5. On the row for Skyrim under the heading "Install Path", click and type the location of your Skyrim install. For example if you installed Skyrim on your D: drive, then you want to type, D:\Skyrim\ so Loot will know to find it there.
  6. Glad I could help. I get the slow transitions too. Happy gaming.
  7. My Toshiba Laptop is the same way by default, but I was able to go into the bios at startup and change it so the regular F1 keys would be default. I don't know what model of HP Laptop you have, but on startup you may be be able to enter the bios settings by pressing F10 or Escape. Once in the bios, you can then look for a setting that will allow you to decide what pressing the "FN" key will do. Just change it according to what you want. Another option is to look up your documentation and see if HP includes a program you can run to access the bios. I hope this helps.
  8. I just tested both SkyUI and Dual Hand Combo Hotkeys (the mod I linked a above) with my Logitech trackball mouse and both allowed me to map my wheel button(3,) 4, and 5, buttons to slots. So I imagine that both of these mods should map to your mouse keys just fine.
  9. Try this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37006/? I have used this with SkiUI and it has worked fine for me. I haven't played Skyrim in awhile, but if I remember correctly it should do what you need it for. In my experience with my rather weak system, lag plays a small roll in delaying hot key commands. Also, if you have set keybinds to your 10 key pad, you'll want to make sure "Num Lock" is on.
  10. Glad to see you made progress on that. I hope you are able to get them to remove the content you want them to remove. Cheers. :-)
  11. You're not looking for their ISPs. You're looking for a way to contact the the site admins or a way to contact the hosts of these pages. So you want to go to whois.com, click on the link that reads, "whois" and input the names of the sites to find all the information you need to contact someone who may be able to do something about your issue. Edit: This probably could go without saying but search for each site separately, i.e. skyrim.2game.com, print the info then do the same for the other site. I hope this helps.
  12. Update: After experimenting with my security settings and personal preferences without success, I did a search and found an old post from neowin.net that speaks to this issue. The post from neowin.net can be found by doing an Internet search for "Cant paste text into text editor in IE 11". (Edit: Removed the link to neowin.net in favor of providing text for people to do their own search as other links relevant to this issue also appear that may be of some assistance.) It turns out according to neowin.net that this is an issue common with the forum text editor developed by IPB. So I assume while IPB has made many improvements to the editor since 2014, they haven't fixed this issue. So apparently IPB hasn't or perhaps doesn't think it is necessary to make their editor compatible with IE 11. This is likely because MS released Microsoft Edge(with Win 10) which is supposed to replace Internet Explorer meaning IE users will eventually be forced to use ME or switch to Chrome, Firefox, or any other browsers that still allow the use of third party plugins which ME presently does not as I have experienced it. So according to a poster at neowin.net, to enable the ability to paste into the visual editor, go to "Tools" and click on "Compatibility View settings" and click "Add" to let it add nexusmods.com to IE 11's list of sites that require "Compatibility View settings" enabled to work properly. I tested this and it works so that I can now paste into the visual editor. Also for people who have stubbornly chosen to plug on with Microsoft Edge, you can paste into the visual editor by clicking one of the paste options on the editor, but you may need to re-paste into a little box that may pop up to get it to work. The reason I had to paste into a box that popped up first was because ME's security settings wouldn't allow me to paste directly from the clipboard or MS Word. I have Cortana disabled, so that may be why but would like verification on that since I refuse to re-enable Cortana to find out if my suspicion is correct. Final note . . . I think... I personally don't mind having to switch to the plain-text editor to paste into the forum, and since I can paste comments into the visual editor on the mods side of this site, I probably will just continue using the plain-text editor here instead of using "Compatibility View". I hope this helps others who may be experiencing this same issue which I consider to be only a minor irritation that is easily solved with a click or two of a button or switching to different browser that doesn't have this issue. I hope this helps all who find this thread. Happy Gaming.
  13. Sorry, it's the button at the top left of the editor just to the left of the profile picture. It looks like it has an "Oblivion" symbol on it to me. I guess it is the plain text editor button as you described it. Since I was able to paste to the visual editor in Firefox, I figured it had to do with one of my settings in IE. Anyway, It's no longer a problem since I can paste into the plain text editor. I appreciate your reply, and thank you. P.S. Edit: I just finished checking the Bug Tracker, and found no posts related to the one I posted here.
  14. Thank you again. I found out what was wrong. First after testing this issue using Mozilla Firefox and verifying it was Internet Explorer 11, I began testing various settings in the Advanced section of Internet Options with no success. So I came back here and took a closer look at this editor and found that I had to click the button Oblivion symbol on it next to the one used to remove formatting in the upper left corner of this editor. This then allowed me to paste into the editor. So the issue is either one of IE 11's little irritations or a setting I have yet to discover that would allow me to post without clicking the "Oblivion" button. Thanks again for your reply and prompting me to look at other possibilities. Best wishes.
  15. Thank you for replying Thallassa. I can paste into the nexusmods.com comment editors, but not the forum post editor like this one. I logged into my account at blizzard and tested its forum post editor and it worked perfect. So as far as I can tell, this issue is unique to this forum only.
  16. I haven't posted on any threads for awhile until yesterday and today and learned I couldn't paste from my clipboard even though I gave permission. Since I often write my responses in notepad++ first and copy and paste them when I am ready, this has become a bit unsettling but not too nerve wracking until I have to type out a link to another forum post, mod page, or other helpful link that may be relevant to the topic I am posting to. Is this an issue only I am experiencing, or is it a bug that should be looked into? I hope someone can help me with this. Also, sorry if this is the wrong place for this topic.
  17. ... one more thing..... Go through the descriptions and posts of the mods you use to see if anyone has posted crash related issues with any of the mods you use. This probably should have been your first step. Good luck. :)
  18. Ok, so Skyrim starts, is playable until you get to certain areas, then you crash. While you already are doing this, I suggest you make sure you start Skyrim using the SKSE launcher. Try this, go to your "SKSE" folder in your Skyrim/Data folder and open the Skse.ini file. Delete or change the following line. Delete this, [Display] ITintTextureResolution=2048 or lower the number to 1024 or 768 to see if that helps. Remember the prettier you make your game using graphics edits and environmental mods, the harder the game is on your computer's resources dropping your fps and causing other potential issues like you're experiencing. In case these suggestions don't help, try the following. You will want to download Wrye Bash, install it and create a bashed patch which will merge mods that will play better together when merged and perform other improvements which may help. You can find it here at: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1840/? You'll want to download the 306 installer. It is a standalone executable that will install Wrye Bash for you. Only two minor league virus checkers on virus total flagged it but it is absolutely safe to use. Before or after installing Wrye Bash, take the time to read up on how to use it, but in short your main concern is to find the bashed patch it creates, right click on and choose "Rebuild Patch". Then let it go to work, any mods it wants to merge will have to be disabled, so let it do that when it asks. To familiarize yourself with it before letting it finish is to look through the list of changes it makes. When it is finished, just tick the box next to the newly rebuilt patch to enable it, run Loot to resort your load order and see if that fixes your issue. For better information on modding, I suggest gromulos' "Beginner's guide to modding" which is located at, http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2235394-beginners-guide-to-modding/. Even though it states that it is for beginners, I think it would be very helpful as gromulos lays out the best way I believe to mod your game. Now if you try all these suggestions, with no success, then I can only suggest starting a modless game only activating the dlcs and unofficial patch. Then after finishing Helgen begin installing your mods one by one making a new (not quick) save before each install until you find the mod that causes the crashing. This is usually the best and most helpful suggestion for many computer issues almost from day 1, but I have found in gaming that other methods should be used first with this being last resort before complete removal and reinsall of the game or program having problems. Finally, if at all possible with such a heavily modded game (and even less modded) try to avoid using quicksave except before encounters that you may want do a quick reload on when things start going south, then delete the quicksave until the next time you need it. Also disable Autosave and get into the practice of only doing manual saves. Skyrim doesn't appear to handle auto and quick saves well which can cause save bloat which intern can cause other issues. Anyway, sorry for the long long long post. I hope some of this helps. I think this is the best I can offer for help and hope someone with more knowledge and experience can take ti from here if you try all the suggestions I posted without success. Good luck.
  19. Have you verified your Skyrim files through Steam to make sure that none of them have become corrupt? If not do that, but keep in mind that if you cleaned your DLCs, you'll have to do that again after Steam replaces all files it considers corrupt or missing. To verify your files, go into your Steam library, right click on Skyrim and choose "Properties". Then click on the "Local Files" tab, and click on the bar that says "Verify Integrity of Game Cache". After the process has been completed, try to run Skyrim and see if that fixed your issue. If that doesn't work, run Windows update and see if it needs to install any new updates. If Windows update doesn't need to install anything that may fix your issue, then try reinstalling Skyrim. This is last resort because it involves having Steam delete your local files, so you can re-download and install the game. If you want you can move or rename your "Data" folder so you can copy and paste all your mods, meshes, textures and other modded files into your new data folder after verifying that your game runs after the reinstall. If I can remember correctly your save folder should not be deleted, so when you have verified that your game runs after reinstalling and starting a new game, you can load your saves after restoring your mods and modded files from your backup of your old "Data" folder. Of course don't forget to run any utilities you use to help you sort and bash your mods to make sure they won't cause other issues when loading your saves. :) I hope this helps.
  20. This may or may not fix your issue but besides the other suggestions, I noticed that you have Wyrmstooth.esp before Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.esp. The patch should immediately follow the DLCs then all other mods added in whatever order their authors, Loot or Boss suggest is best. Here is a quote from the Wyrmstooth Readme which you can access through a clickable link from the Wyrmstooth Description page. "Always make sure Wyrmstooth is loaded AFTER the official DLC and unofficial patches." Also from the readme, "When in doubt, load it as the last master file in your load list." I need to add though that if you do use Wrye Bash as suggested, make sure your bashed patch is very last in your load order. Also, if Loot sorted Wyrmstooth before the patch, edit the metadata in Loot to force it to sort Wyrmstooth after the patch. Finally I agree with jones177. Even with all the other suggestions, you still probably need to install the SKSE memory patch to get through the door. Good luck, I hope you get this issue resolved.
  21. You can find the most recent version of SKSE at this link: http://skse.silverlock.org/
  22. Thanks for replying. My last suggestion on this is verify your game cache on Steam. If you don't have Steam set to automatically update your game, change to update automatically. If you don't have a Steam version then you need to read the information given at http://obse.silverlock.org/ which tells what versions are officially supported and what are not. If none of that applies, you may need to uninstall then reinstall Oblivion and try installing obse again. Instructions on how to do a proper uninstall/reinstall of Oblivion can be found at http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=561101&st=0&p=8103714&&do=findComment&comment=8103714. This link was posted in a thread that deals with issues related to reinstalling Oblivion and can be found at http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/41082-problems-with-reinstalling-oblivion/. I hope this helps or at least leads to a better solution or answer to your problem than I can provide. Good luck.
  23. I tried different ways of starting the game that might prevent obse from loading but it continued to work fine. Could you please post a list of your mods in the order in which they are loaded. If you are running any other mods that are intended to do what obse already does, then you may have a conflict that prevents it from loading. Also check your game saves folder which you can find at C:\Users\(your user id)\Documents\My Games\Oblivion. If your saves include copies with ".obse" after them, then it is working and the problem is with the mods and not obse. In that case you may just have a load order problem. The best way to fix this is to download and install Loot (https://github.com/loot/loot/releases) and run it to get your load order sorted out. It's not perfect, but is a good start if you want to get your mods to play nice together. You may also want to check out this thread: Beginners guide to modding. Beyond that, I can't think of anything else to suggest except to appeal to someone who has had and fixed this same problem before.
  24. Did you enable Steam overlay by ticking the box in Oblivion's properties? Here is a quote from the OBSE readme for steam users: Follow the instructions for step 2 if you already did step 1. The instructions though should now read, "Go to Steam, right click on Oblivion, choose 'Properties' and under the 'General' tab, make sure the box is ticked next to 'Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game'.
