JuzoXX
I couldn't find anything about this on the Nexus forums or Bethesda official forums, my apologies if I overlooked something. I play FO4 on PC and PS4 and can't wait to see modding brought to the console community! My question is, "What are the limits on mod submissions?" Will I be able to use CBBE and Bodyslide on my PS4? Can I submit NSFW material to the "Official" FO4 mod page on bethesda.net? Can I download NSFW material for PS4 for use in FO4? I know we are still a few weeks away from mods on consoles, June for PS4 for me, but does anybody have an idea? Thanks!
caseter6
It is not confirmed at all yet what types of mods will or will not be supported on consoles aside from the logical point that some graphical enhancement mods wont work on them as they do not have enough power. As for NSFW material as far as I can find there are no terms currently against publishing them on their website but at the same time I have not read the terms in detail. RustyXXL
You can be pretty sure there won't be any nsfw mods for consoles. I don't see either of the companies wanting to deal with the potential outcry of parents worried about nudity in a game where their kids frequently run over mutilated bodies and can decapited enemies. Also I'm pretty certain there won't be any tools like bodyslide or f4se for consoles. I personally will most likely never support modding on consoles with anything I'll make, because a) I can't test on consoles, as I don't own one, and don't even have a tv to connect them to b) I don't see any good tools for organizing overrides, loadorder etc coming for consoles c) I don't want to deal with ppl that are even less used to what modding entails, than here on the nexus.Furthermore it's even doubtful I'd be willing to upload to bethesda.net, because quite simply I don't have to check 2 places for bug reports, complaints etc, and from what I have seen so far, I'm really not impressed by the interface. This is personal opinion ofc, but I could imagine more modders thinking like that. just my 2 cent
crawe1x
I don't want to deal with ppl that are even less used to what modding entails, than here on the nexus. Yeah, I can definitely sympathize with modders on this point. There is a learning curve to using mods and too many people fail to read even the most basic instructions. Even as a user, it can sometimes be irritating reading some of the comments from fellow users.
Ethreon
Current rating system on Beth is plain out dumb, and whoever thought mods should be rated without at least 15 minutes of download and usage has issues in the head. The forums are fairly bad, the reply system is poorly made. The console won't allow 3rd party tools, that's for sure. Only reason we're getting some tools is because MS/Sony asked that mod content be same quality as game content (cause we all know Beth files are 1000% up to snuff). Not sure what they wanna do, but lots of console players will be sad. And we'll see an influx of inexperienced/underage trolls and players. Not just graphical enhancement mods, but unless there's some way of determining this that I'm not aware of, I'm more worried about people putting too many mods into their game and it causing the system to freeze up and crash. I don't know how they can do this like will they say "limit it to X number mods at one time". It might not be a huge issue I suppose, but it was something I thought of. You can be pretty sure there won't be any nsfw mods for consoles. Now as to your issues with putting mods up for the consoles, I suspect there will be some financial incentive to draw in modders to deal with those hastles. However, I do think your concerns can be minimized, if not removed completely by allowing your mods to be tested on the PC before releasing to Consoles in a more or less bug free version, AND that's assuming that Bethesda won't be using a tool to sort the load order of mods on their end. Now as for the interface, I'm with you but it is beta so it could be tweaked. We'll see though how much Bethesda is going to want this to work on Consoles as they can't risk using the same hands off approach they attempted with the PC last year. As to the quality of Beth files, you and I both know that a big part of the problem with said files is that can sometimes not be properly cleaned. For one, if you are referring to how the vanila files handle with mods, that's never really been a concern for consoles so why bother is probably Beth attitude (wonder if they'll resolve that issue now). And two, I do think we may see some QA done on someone's part as I very much doubt they'll allow you to upload a mod straight the consoles. I have to believe Bethesda learned their lesson on that point from the debacle the first time around.

Adding financial incentive, would ofc change things quite drastically, but on the front of loadorder management tools etc I don't put to much trust in Bethesda. Sure, they improved things, but 2 mods adding stuff to the same levelled list means either 1 of them needs to have a merged patch (that might have to be maintained and updated) or some stuff from the losing conflicting stuff will simply not be available, without tools like xEdit or Wrye Bash at least offering automatic patches. (Which are better than nothing, and the respective authors did great jobs, but even them aren't really perfect at resolving every possible issue.)So, yeah, my point stands, console modding just has to many issues that bethesda hasn't even started to adress, and to me it really seems they simply don't care.
