flameshiva
So now Bethesda.net has been added with patch 1.5. Will it just be an alternate way to download mods, simple like the Steam Workshop but for console players too ? I'm just curious if it in any way would affect the Nexus or Nexus mods. JimboUK
Steam didn't so I doubt this will, the site is terrible anyway, especially from an authors point of view, it's full of trolls giving one star ratings without even downloading the mod. bigcrazewolf
Well, if it's anything similar to the new forums over their it will suck. NMM has more appeal to people with multiple games, and it has a consumer base already
exploiteddna
yeah I had this exact thought. I know theyre trying to be helpful or whatever, but, to a certain degree, we dont need their help. I don't need or want the 'convenience' of installing a mod from within the game. Modding has always been about control for me. Sure, for those who want to click it and forget it, thats fine I guess. But I want to look at the package, I want to inspect the plugin(s), I want to know what all is included and what's being installed. These are things you have to know if you want to effectively manage mod/record conflicts, optional features, etc. This reminds me of steam workshop, which I loathe. Hope this new platform remains optional and does not interfere with those of us who dont need or want their integrated platform and/or help managing mods
MadDreamer
Modding has always been about control for me.I have a feeling that this is about control for Bethesda as well.
HoneyRebecca
The way it has affected my game is that I am unable to use any Nexus mods at all. I have jumped through hoops all day trying to get them to work and non are working. Does anyone else have this problem?
ZyphFL
The way it has affected my game is that I am unable to use any Nexus mods at all. I have jumped through hoops all day trying to get them to work and non are working. Does anyone else have this problem?Did you activate them in the game? Go to the mod tab and activate them through the load order button. I will be using both, I see why they did it which is for the console version. The real question is how many mod makers will cross publish. As I would really like to revisit my xbone character I hope a lot do. For the first time ever console users can play this game as it is best, with mods.
Deleted3507349User
I suspect it won't affect the Nexus much, if at all. Most of the traffic there will likely be console users when that goes live. Personally, I hope bethesda.net succeeds in a big way and Bethesda makes improvements to the site.
SharraShimada
Console-Players will be forced to use the bethesda-crap-site for mods. Everone else, who is lucky to not be stuck with the publishers crap, will use nexus. Just took a look at bethesdas mod-page, and its horrible. Sorry, but bethesda should keep to what they´re good for: making frameworks for games, filled with content from other people, who know what they are doing.
