lbrendel15
Hey guys, I just updated my FO4 to the most recent update, the creation kit update. I was browsing the files they had on the bethesda mod forums in-game, when i exited out of that the game crashed. so I decided that I would restart the game and just go straight into the game as usual, all my mods had been dismounted so I went and re-enabled the files via the in-game mod list, then went to start my game, sat on the loading screen for a while. The 3d model came up finally and I figured the game would start as usual, but again it crashed. I have tried everything I can, I even disabled all of my nexus mods and the bethesda mods. Nothing works. I desperately need help. I am so frustrated I nearly punched my computer screen in frustration after about the 20th time trying to fix the game. Someone please help! Rabbit1251
You can try this fix. It says that there is another, updated fix available, but I'm using this one and it works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKLR1bZIKAA&feature=iv&src_vid=3DDgn9xRfYw&annotation_id=annotation_4233151571 The Rabbit
steve40
Remove all the custom swf forms and whatnot from "data\Interfaces". if any of those files are also pre-loaded in your inifile, remove them from there also. then see if the game loads without crashing. msyoung
Does not work for me. Fallout 4 has worked fine for months, played yesterday without any problem today it will not start at all. This is what I tried, I saw all the mods had been disabled so I tried to start the game without them using NMM, crashed to my desktop during the startup process. Added the mods and same thing. Tried both ways using the desktop shortcut for Fallout 4, no success. Tried both ways using the Steam window, no success. I have made no changes here so that means Bethesda did. What is different? msyoung
A couple definitions please. Please define "whatnot" and where is "data\Interfaces" and the "inifile"?
th0rgrim
Well i knew this was coming. The game did this to me when i tried to survival mode beta patch. My game would reject all mods. Then yesterday they forced the 1.5 patch upon us if u have automatic download on in steam then u didn't get a choice and you can't go back. Now i can't even start a new game or load a save game. I have not even completed/explored this game yet and this is the second time i have had to stop my playthrough could be my last ^.^
ChuckZombie
Yep. All of my mods are disabled. The same as when the beta came up. I opted out of the beta, but when they released it as an update, it installed automatically. This really pisses me off.
Fatalmasterpiece
Mods work fine, the reason you're crashing is because you installed UI mods which are not compatible with the latest UI changes in 1.5 Unfortunately disabling mods like Def_UI isn't completely automated and leaves loose files in your data folder. There are 133 files installed by the mod. Manually check to make sure none of them are remaining.
msyoung
I am looking in the data folder, what exactly am I looking for? Most files end in .esp and .ba2. A few with other extensions.
OracoloJns
I had the same problem and it was for two reasons:1) "No dotdotdot" mod has a broken swf file2) somehow the plugin.txt file and the loadorder file were inconsistent with eachother and that created a problem My solutions:1) deleted hudmenu.swf that you can find in the folder "Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\interface". If you're using a mod that modifies the interface such as Def_UI this is similar to the solution you may need. Look for swf files in this folder (the part befero "Steam" depends on where you installed the game) 2)- disabled all the mods in NMM- edited files DLCList.txt , loadorder.txt and Plugins.txt in "C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Fallout4": I deleted every mention to the mods I had installed- re-activated the mods in NMM I hope this can help.
