Marcvss
[ This is starting to feel like a ridiculously buggy update.Couldn't agree more really... I noticed also that they changed some of the ingame music, however its still crackin' up the conversation bits. Anyone know how to downgrade the patching by any chance? BarefootWarrior
At the risk of asking a stupid question and a slight topic change. I have noticed since this update that many of you are getting your game from Steam? Not being a hardcore player I had to look this up. let me get this straight..you folks are downloading the game from a site rather then buy the DVD? And in this situation, you have to download the complete game with update to play it, is this right? That being said, this means you can't 'back up' the older version of the game and simply re-install it, and Steam does not have an older version of the game (update 1.2) available for anyone to download again? No offense to anyone, but this does not make any sense to me. Guess I really am old school, I want the DVD in my hot little hands to avoid situations just like this. I ask this because I've notice that some folks have done just that. Wipe out the game with the new update (1.3) and install again and go back to 1.2, but just those who actually have the discs to do it. I feel bad that those of you who have downloaded the game from Steam ( or anyone else) have to go through these issues and have to rely on them to get problems fixed with ,apparently, no way to back up to an earlier version. Sorry, don't want to start anything here, but I guess I don't understand why anyone would download a game and not buy the discs. Looking at the site, I don't see any real price advantages to speak off, but maybe I'm wrong. Just curios.... runs...........
dragonbird
In my case, I buy from Steam for fairly simple reasons. In my home city, there is exactly one shop selling computer software where I can have a reasonable expectation that it's authentic, they don't always have what I want, and there's often a few months' delay getting new games. My only other DVD choice would be importing from overseas, which would be very expensive and risky. You can backup Steam files, but I'm not sure if that amount of planning-ahead would have allowed us to revert . I've seen some posts on the Steam forums that imply it would have worked, but no confirmation. Otherwise, you're right. We can't go back.
