DGSaA
So simple question really. Is there any real major difference from getting a Mod through Bethesda.net compared to Nexus ? like is one just more easy to use, or is one more convientent, or just more stable ? or would i be perfecly fine mixing and matching using one option to get a few mods and the other option to get the rest ? or is it just generally better to just get all the mods from the same place ? by default ill prob use the Nexus, i just want to know if there would be any conflict/harm in grabbing some from the Bethesda stuff aswell ? Royhr
Well for ease of use I think Nexus is by far superior especially using NMM. That Beth site is terrible. You can tell it's setup primarily with consoles in mind. Other than that I guess it really doesn't matter which site you end up using.
SunnyDelight
None of my mods are working in NMM (Not showing up in addons in game and can't load up save files because of missing mods) since the Bethesda.net stuff has come out. In the plugins it says they are all active bbut none of them are loading in game. Anyone know what's going on? Edit: Okay apparently my ini files where messed up but getting CTD when loading saves. Yay updates :D Edited April 30, 2016 by SunnyDelight
zanity
Simples- if you appreciate Nexus, continue to support Nexus and download your mods exclusively from here. Nexus supports mods official AND unofficial, and allows all content legal in the territory it is based in. On the other hand, the rotten Zenimax is the parent owner of Bethesda, and Beth iherits a CORPORATE attitude towards modding, as the short-lived 'paid' Skyrim modding project proved. Nothing wrong with companies making money, but no corporation is your friend, or cares about anything but the bottom line. The Nexus community, on the other hand, is a literal gift from the gods. As for 'technical' fears- well in my experience it is the corporate corraled software that carries the most risks. The indy folk crafting third-party tools for FO4 care more about quality control than ever Beth does. Of course, official Beth tools will 'understand' the engine and datasets from FO4 better, but mods crafted using the official tools are, of course, posted here as well. Let the console bods- who have no choice (by design of Beth, Microsoft and Sony)- use Beth.net. PC users should embrace the freedom and quality of Nexus.
