Hi i am interested to take the other side of Gaming, the creators viewpoint.

So i havent any experience with any Modding tools or whats so ever, so my question is how do i start to become a modder?

What i would like to create is : Modify and creat new Models, with new textures and structure, overall 3d modelling

Best place that I've found to get a mentor or group help for the advanced stuff (modeling, texturing etc) has been at the TES Alliance

However before you dive into the advanced stuff, try your hand at making a small modification just using the base game assets and the provided mod kit (assuming your focusing on modding Bethesda games)

Ex.

- TES IV: Oblivion & Construction Kit

- TES III: Morrowind & Construction Kit

- TES V: Skyrim & Creation Kit

- Fallout 3 & Garden of Eden Creation Kit

- Fallout New Vegas & Garden of Eden Creation Kit

- Fallout 4 & Creation Kit (new, wouldn't recommend for beginners)

**** Please note that similarities between mod tool kit names does not mean you can mod multiple games from one tool kit

Hey there. I'm in a similar boat to you, just getting my bearings at the moment.

The first thing I did was spend a couple of weeks watching youtube tutorials and playing around with all the necessary programs for modding various aspects of the game. That has given me strong base of knowledge to work from. Now I've joined this site, and soon I'll join TES Alliance, to build on the foundations I have.

I'd assume you have some things you'd like to create if your interested in modding so I'd suggest choosing something simple and just get your hands dirty. If you are driven to learn how then you will find the right resources and the community seems friendly and happy to assist. Good luck! :)

Editing other peoples mods is also a good way to learn, you get to see how they've done things.
