phoneyLogic
Kudos for being a bad ass search engine trick haxor  I wonder why the slash always is being removed. Search engines always leave out certain characters. Of cause some of theam are used, like the "+" or the "-". But, does the slash has a function? Search engines always leave out certain characters. Of cause some of theam are used, like the "+" or the "-". But, does the slash has a function?Probably because it is a common trick to hack web servers by trying to access the C: or some system DLL / EXE files. If you ever have the pleasure of maintaining a web site, take a look at the web log files. You will see all kinds of random / automated hack attempts...sometimes it comprises the majority of your site traffic!
phoneyLogic
Yeah, good point. Didn't know that the search engine could be abused in such a way.
phoneyLogic
Otherwise, using an expression like ".dll" doesn't bring along any server related files. With or without slash. I fugure this could be still a bug - and not a feature. Edited July 19, 2011 by tortured Tomato
