Amczek
I followed this tutorial with CharGen Extension http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Using_a_face_made_with_Chargen_Extension_on_an_NPC_for_Skyrim In nifscope he looks pretty round-faced to me. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z261/Wampirencja/nifscope.png So here's a girlish, round faced, childlike creature (not 100% wanted look but I want face to be the last thing to do) on the left while in racemenu. And on the right how he looks in-game. There is a HUGE difference. I loaded my NPC on the end of load order after all texture, eyes, overhauls etc. He is normal high elf preset. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z261/Wampirencja/npcproblem.png I also tried ~spf [name] and uploading it into CK. Then clicking IMPORT actually nothing matched -no hair nor eyes, but I changed them to desired eye color and hair. And the mesh is awfully distant to what I wanted... http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z261/Wampirencja/npcinck.png Also, the character height is 0.900 (since I want him to be really short) with weight 30.000 yet the game gives him height 1.000 with different weight. In Creation Kit height and weight are properly made tho it doesn't show in-game. What am I doing wrong...? I can see people making amazing NPC's not via CK. Edited May 2, 2016 by Amczek

ldrifta
very simple, get the NIF-Merge tool, then you drag the .nif file from your race menu preset in the left side, drag your custom npc's .nif file in on the right side, click match by vertex than merge the files.. make sure you are exporting your characters appearance from within the creation kit, i believe you click on your character under the actor list then press ctrl and f4 at the same time.. i could be wrong but its something like that Nif Merge - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/40494/? Amczek
I used Nif Merge, that's the result and that's why I'm stuck. Don't know how to make a character appear properly. I was using the newest version of NifMerge
Olivaerys
Do you use any head mesh replacer (malehead.nif)... like Citrus Head? i see you're using the default head part for him. You might need to create a Head Part with your head mesh and then NIF Merge it.
Amczek
Is there some kind of tutorial without NifMerge? I'm pretty new to modding at all *_*
Ezarr
Do you use any head mesh replacer (malehead.nif)... like Citrus Head? i see you're using the default head part for him. You might need to create a Head Part with your head mesh and then NIF Merge it.I'm making a custom follower and it uses Citrus Head but when i export the .nif file (Ctrl + F4) from CK and proceed to open it in NifMerge i notice that it has a vanilla head mesh and is not letting me do the merge cause of it. How can i add the correct Head mesh to my custom follower?
notredamin
This seems to be a common roadblock for new modders. I've been tinkering with creation kit for a couple weeks now trying to overhaul NPCs. I've wasted countless hours on failed attempts. I export my .nif from racemenu, then exporting the vanilla characters .nif from racemenu to the games loose files. I next use the NifMerge tool and merge the racemenu.nif with the ck.nif match vertex and merge. I then add hair, eyes, beard, etc through ck. When i load game. Stand next to NPC with my Race Menu Preset and... Different. WHYY!
