Vecna6667
Yes it should be possible. Just use the right connectors for the drive. SATA cables for a SATA drive(most current) and IDE cables for a PATA drive(older drives.) After connecting the drive, run an antivirus and malware scan on the drive so that you don't pick up malicious code on your system. After that, just copy the files you want to your system. WrathOfDeadguy
Not only that, but you can get 2.5"->3.5" conversion brackets to permanently mount the laptop drive in your desktop, if you'd rather not waste the drive after getting the data off it. It won't measure up to the best desktop drives, but it'll run a lot cooler because of increased airflow and direct contact to the metal hard drive bay so it might perform better in the tower than it did in the portable. As long as it still runs, it's just extra storage.
hoofhearted4
yea i figured i could keep it there. its a 320gb. maybe ill keep just files on it, and the OS and the games on my main HDD (500gb)
DarkeWolf
Hoof- you can also buy external usb cases that you can mount the drive in, and then have a portable drive that you can take with you. It just plugs in via any USB jack.
