JimmyRJump Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 hmm.. ok, just so i know im understanding i need to copy that femalebody.nif that it saved to, change the name to my custom one, and put it in the char folder you mentioned? if so, do i need to do anything to restore anything, such as me hitting save instead of save as? (im pretty sure at first i hit save before i asked for help). im sorry for not completely understanding! D:Forget about the 'save' thing. Has nothing to do with creating a new .nif. It's about saving an .xml. Those .xml files are loaded in BodySlide to make a new Femalbody.nif when hitting 'Build'. The new 'Femalebody.nif' must always keep that name, or it won't be recognized by the game. Copy and let that 'Femalebody.nif' overwrite the one that's already in 'Fallout 4\Data\Meshes\actors\character\PlayerCharacterAssets'
queensiha Posted May 10, 2016 Author Posted May 10, 2016 (edited) ok, i got it! i did that and my character actually uses the preset i made (i guess she wasn't even using it to begin with !), but she did lose the misfit body tattooswhat can i do to fix the body of the npc's now? they still seem to have the foot textures in clothes that show their legsim sorry for not getting it sooner, you explained everything perfectly but im slow  Edited May 10, 2016 by queensiha
JimmyRJump Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 Nah, don't worry about it... besides, it was me who confused you by adding that 'save as' thing, because I like to tinker with downloaded presets, changing the shape a bit here and there. If and when you've changed the shape of a preset, better use 'save as' to, firstly, keep the original file, and secondly, to keep track of the files you've changed. When having made changes to a preset and used 'Save' then the original file is gone and you would need to re-download the presets and re-install them in order to get back the original shape. To get the NPC bodies back to 'normal', just pick any preset you want (except the preset you've used for your Unique Player, else everybody will again have the same body as your character) and hit 'Batch Build'. Just beware to not include clothes you've downloaded especially for your own character, in the 'Filter By Group/Choose Groups' filter in BodySlide. If you want NPCs to look generic, choose the 'CBBE Vanilla' preset with the 'CBBE Body' (Nude) or 'CBBE NeverNude' (Underwear) as 'Outfit/Body' and use 'Build' instead of 'Batch Build', because clothes are already vanilla and don't need to be included...
queensiha Posted May 10, 2016 Author Posted May 10, 2016 ah, alright! so now the npcs legs look fine in vanilla short dresses and only have the toes texture in downloaded outfits. can i fix that by making a batch build with the cbbe vanilla and cbbe body, instead of just build?i redownloaded the tattoos mody and unique body mod also, but the tattoos arent appearing on my player still? (she does have her body i made though). and for some reason, my customs have disappeared from the drop down menus...?
JimmyRJump Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 I don't have a lot of experience with adapting clothes in BodySlide, but I guess (with emphasis on 'guess' ) that you'll need to find a clothes set mod that has vanilla or other vestiments converted to CBBE. For the tattoos, you'll need to find a set that is compatible with Unique Player. Another method is to download the tattoos again, but manually. Unpack the tattoos in a separate folder and copy the "femalebody_d.dds" file from those tattoos into the "Fallout 4\Data\Textures\actors\character\PlayerHumanFemale" folder. Before you do that, better rename the original femalebody_d.dds in the PlayerHumanFemale folder into something like orig_femalebody_d.dds as a back-up should something go wrong. The custom presets you've created (and which are .xml files) are in the "Fallout 4\Data\Tools\BodySlide\SliderPresets" folder and in the BodySlide program should be found under the 'Preset' menu.
queensiha Posted May 10, 2016 Author Posted May 10, 2016 ah, yeah, the custom presets i made arent showing in the preset menu, but they are in that sliderpresets folder :/as for the rest, thank you! i will give the manual download a try, ive heard nmm can cause problems sometimes. thank you jimmy!
queensiha Posted May 10, 2016 Author Posted May 10, 2016 ah, everything is completely fixed!! no foot textures and tattoos on the custom body! it worked! :D
JimmyRJump Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 An install with NMM would not show the tattoos in your Unique Player body, since NMM doesn't know you're using Unique Player and would add the files in the wrong folder. The Unique Player mod makes the game look in the "Data\Textures\actors\character\PlayerHumanFemale" for your character, while NMM would add the files to the "Data\Textures\actors\character\basehumanfemale"... As far as the missing .xml files go, just make sure that the extention is still .xml. Is the only thing I can think of right now. Glad you got that sorted, Queensiha :)
