With Battlefield 3 class reveal on July 8th the Barrett M98 MRAD was revealed as a likely in game weapon system for the sniper class. So with BF3 not far away I figured it might be a good time to see if any moder is up to recreate the M98 MRAD for Fallout New Vegas. A link to the Barret Web site and pics are included of this nice weapon platform.

Gnubee:

There is a .338 gun in AWOP but you'll need a patch or two to find it. If you do find the .338 Stoner M110 you won't regret it. It looks like a lower DPS than the HK416 Match from BOE but with the advanced .338 variants loaded it's about 100DPS higher.

That new Barrett would definatley make a nice new addition. It actually looks a bit like BoE's Beowulf sniper but higher cal.

......[spoiler Warning].......:

The .338 Stoner is in the Collapsed Underpass North in an Enclave Crate on the back of a truck.

SWEET!

Thanks. I can't even play F:NV without AWOP, and it just got better! I'll look for the Stoner as soon as I can.

What I was going to do was to make a patch that modified M weapons to use the more obscure ammo (and tweak their stats accordingly) - so the Varmint Rifle M would use .22-250, the Assault Carbine M might use 6.8, the Gobi Rife .338 Lapua, the Hunting Rifle M might use Winchester 300 Mag (although I really do like it in 5.56), and the Anti-Materiel Rifle M something like the Barrett .416 or Chey-Tac.408. (I already tweaked the Lever Shotgun M to use 12ga ammo, which makes it incredibly useful. I made it just slightly less powerful than the Hunting Shotgun (base damage of 80 instead of 85), but it reloads a bit faster.)

Sounds good. I meant to do something similar myself but I always use BOE which has replacers for most of the M-Weapons built in (though does not effect many stats). I made sure to use as many unusual calibers as possible in AWOP's weapon patches (so many CFW guns use unusual caliber ammos even though it does not have caliber as a master normally). I think I used 'em all in at least once.
