Actual rifles meant for right handed people

I think it's done that way to make animating guns easier, I'd imagine.

If i recall correctly it was done this way to have "Pretty" animations that are not off screen.

Can you imagine if they had realistic flash with it. You'd be seeing spots every time you played.

Am I seriously loosing my mind this bad?

Cod of glory's picture is from New Vegas. Evidenced by the "CND" at the bottom. fallout 4 does not have condition. I don't think that it's vanilla either. (But I could be wrong) my first post showed everything in FO4 is done left handed, working the bolt to reloading. so that's a modder's issue not Vanilla. if you're complaining that the Mod authors need to make more right handed weapons, then complain to the author of the left handed weapon directly.

But like.....I'm loosing my mind right now trying to even understand what's even going on. there's nothing that needs fixed in the vanilla game. and most mods that I've seen for fallout 4 are correctly handed just fine.

*gets into fetal position and rocks back and fourth*

WAIT, you're seriously telling me that that's the right way to load the rifle? noo... man.... that's not right! messing around with a nerf gun, that's really counter intuitive.

MY WHOLE LIFE IS A LIIIEEE!

what i meant is that the player character is obviously right handed but EVERY GODDAMN VANILLA RIFLE was designed for left handed people. I REFUSE TO BELIEVE EVERYONE BUT THE PLAYER WAS LEFT HANDED BEFORE THE WAR! sorry, got a little too intense there. anyways, if anyone reading this is a modder please, i beg of you, do something. it is stupid, bad game design and incredibly annoying when you see it, and it's a mistake that was made on purpose.

Okay. I think i get it now. just seems really counter intuitive that you have to take your hand off the trigger so often IRL. dunno boss.

what i see as counter intuitive (speaking as a guy who goes to the rifle range regularly) using the hand that is the farthest away from the bolt to reload. you cant fire again until you've reloaded anyways, so what's the point in having your finger on the trigger? besides, you would never be able to get a good shot without using both arms to stabilize the rifle. even the lightest hunting rifles will droop if you're only holding it by the grip, simply because of it's center of gravity.

If the bolt lever is on the right side (outside) you'll take your hand of the trigger between every shot yes but you'll hold the rifle with your left hand and the buttstock propped against your shoulder. You can even look down the sights while cycling the bolt it's that stable.

On the left side however you'll use your left hand for the mechanism, forcing you to let go with the hand keeping the weapon up. Try holding a rifle against your shoulder as if firing but keep your left hand in your pocket. 3 seconds and you'll be fatigued and forced to lower the weapon. Another reason is that when cycling a bolt on the left side (wrong side, inside) of the weapon you'll SMACK YOURSELF IN THE FACE between each shot unless you lower the weapon.

Lower the weapon in a firefight, you die.

yeah. I was watching a thing about Spetznaz training they were all about keeping the gun pointed at the enemy. I dunno. I think I just had that moment where like, if you ask somone to draw bicycle they usually draw it wrong. In hindsight it makes sense that the charge lever is on the outside (right). that's where the casings are ejected from and (of course) you only have one side of the gun with a hole in it...but I had a pretty bad Derp!
