Brokeandlegs
Whenever my character wears modded clothing, it makes the normal texture freak out as you can see on the image. The normal clothing has no texture glitch. Please help. (By the way, if the solution is obvious, and i seem stupid; keep in mind that I just switched from console to PC. Therefore I do not know a single thing about how this all works)
Jeir
You haven't installed the required body mod for the outfit mod(s) you've installed. The most popular is CBBE, and most outfit mods are made for it.Outfits in games do not work the same was as in 'real life'. The outfit will replace the body, not go on top of it. That is why you can get vastly different body shapes on the same character, depending on what outfit they are wearing. The only thing the outfit and body share are skin textures.CBBE has a different UV map to the vanilla body. A UV map is how the texture (the picture) lines up on the mesh (the object in the game). Thus, if you put an outfit made for say, CBBE, on the vanilla/default body, the shape will be CBBE, but the textures will be the vanilla body, and due to the UV map difference, the textures will not line up. I realized that the first time I installed a mod requiring CBBE. I tried installing CBBE, but nothing happened. I even tried uninstalling every mod and reinstalling CBBE first to make sure that that was not the problem. I don't know, but maybe I am missing a required file? Or just not installed it correctly? I used NMM to, but same results. P.S. Sorry for late response. I didn't think anyone would reply.
Jeir
Check the CBBE mod description (it has a FAQ, including a 'why doesn't this work?' one). I haven't bothered with FO4 since Feb, but Ousnius says that nothing's really changed throughout all the updates (he hasn't had any issues), so the info there should still work. RickLaviolette
When I first used mods in the Fallout 4 game it often gave me melted bra look on the burn victim. It was simply a CBBE outfit attempting to be worn on a vanilla body. Clothing must be compatible with the bod of choice.Other things that confused were the use of Jane Bod, Fusion Bods and "No Bods" that vanish completely. The latter I am currently experiencing again. The bods are fine wearing a Vault suit but every CBBE clothing entry vanishes.---Vortex with its simplicity and complexity stores your setup even if you delete all of it , which I also tried and put it back. So I am using the Kingsman Tuxedo with no hands, outfits that are invisible. I have a player with a floating Pip Boy and a levitating head. I can find nothing to help with this. Vortex doesn't recognize the FalloutPref.ini or Custom.ini fixes listed in the old Oxhorn video. Trying to track the file that is "managed by Vortex" adds to the confusion. I believe there is a player body texture missing and it affects companions as well. I don't know where to look or even what to look for. I guess I'm too old for the game.. I tried Unique Player Body too and that was a quagmire I do not recommend unless you know what you are doing.Vortex also has a box for "Game Issues" It says "You have no issues" and "Lucky You" when my system is peppered with issues. Useless to me.
