Hey I'm definitely up to help out! I haven't modded oblivion, but I've messed around with other games so I understand the basics of stuff like this. I'd be really into working on NPCs and quests. As for doing the technical work of putting all of that stuff into the game, as long as its fairly simple and nothing that would take months of study to do, I'm way more than game. Just tell me the resources I need to learn and I'll get right on it.

If however it would take awhile to learn how to do that, I can still come up with quests and NPCs and someone else can add them in (it sounds like you know how to add it all in but just aren't creative enough to actually make something to the quality you're looking for). At the very least I can type up all of the quests and NPC dialogue so it would just be a matter of coding/copy and paste. Like I said though, I do have a basic knowledge of stuff like this so I shouldn't have a problem helping out with the technical stuff too.

Besides AI, I've never worked with AI. Still willing to give it a shot though. :P

And of course, if none of that ends up being useful to you, I will still playtest lol.

Great, all you need to help is the Original Terran Vampires and the Construction Set. We will pm you if we have a task you can help with - I'm sure I can think of something :L

and maybe it is just a smal grup of renegades that is fros several clanes. they make the exsperiments becurse they want a way to make themself the strongest of the strong and they kidnap the vampires they are experimenting on. and they are controling the crazy hybrid and in one point of the quest they can cidnap the player and make experiment on him/her the result is that you can get a new power or the player escapes and kill them or just flee.

Not sure if he he is working with you guys, or if anything he did is open for public use, but it might give you ideas.

 

We are well aware of the previous attempt, although I'm not sure why they stopped. Not much of what they had was available to the public, what they did have is part of BadCompanys mod called "The Crimson Queen". Urko told me he worked with them (or at least ZorakRamone) a while back.

 

Thing is, they went a little overboard. They were making drastic changes to the whole system. Like for example, I remember someone saying they were going to make sure that beserkers couldn't use magic, and arcanists would not be able to use hand to hand. Not only that, but they went a legal step too far and decided to copy all of the names and concepts directly from Vampire: The Masquerade.

 

This is how we differ from them. We don't want to recreate VTM. We want a vampire overhaul for oblivion, inspired by VTM. In fact, I believe we are moving further away from that game, and also I have never even played VTM. As for the gameplay - I have never wanted to restrict anything from the player. At most, just make it difficult. For example that is why we are removing "Weight of the Sun" - it was too gamebreaking and most of all, just annoying. Fair enough, it created a concept I like: Making you have to quickly finish whatever you are doing during the daytime. Of course, I never want to make or, more specifically force, anyone to do anything. For example, you may get stat drains, you may take sun damage, you may occasionally collapse, but if the player is determined to go on; then they will.

 

We have taken a little inspiration from some of the work they did. For example, they had a humanity system too, although I don't know how theirs works. Also, the powers "Flit" and "Flex" came from powers of the same name, and our new powerset "Vampyric Reflex" is based on their power "Rush".

this isnt a big priorty but i myself find it important. for me the clans are very hard to select maybe we can create a short personality quiz (optional) to help pick the clan that is most suited for them instead of them having to make a extremely vague choice that they probably will regret later. p.s my grammer is terrible :unsure:

There was a "manual" in the original (not in game, but in the archive you downloaded) which explained all powers and clans in detail. I was planning to make something similar.

 

And for the record, I picked Arcanist.
