Change of Ad Provider

A few mos ago the ad situation here was outright abusive (and scary in terms of malware) but the owner promised to address the many complaints. I've certainly seen that big issue go away as promised. Glad that action was taken. otherwise, I'd have to remorsefully exit. Ideally, I'd love see no tracking ads, but in this day and age, that may be unrealistic. If only providers understood how much that pisses off "potential customers" and encourages more people to use blockers.

Thanks Dark0ne and staff!

I NEVER _ EVER look at those ads (selective vision) when they pop up, but I do cuss at them a lot - ad-block is easier on the blood pressure - which is already elevated due to the reasons for having to be at the Nexus because of a conflict, etc. And since they have (and are going through) fixing the problem, I'm going to upgrade my membership... thx (so far, so good)

This site is essential to not only getting the most out of my games but bringing them new life time and time again. I haven't used an ad blocker here probably in the last 4-6 months. With "safer" ads i'll even start clicking on them as that may bring you a little extra.

What about directed sponsorship from the makers of the games we mod? I know EA's a bit of a collection of jerks, but Bethesda and Bioware (bypassing the EA guys) have been known to do it. At least they did back some time ago. A tiny ad-space setup of the Fansite kits. Maybe using a Fansite kit for each of the different games.

I use security software that blocks most ads as a side effect. It's too easy for malware to slide in when every page is running scripts from multiple sources, often several dozen of them, and the site you're actually looking at has no control over them.

So I bought premium membership here, because it's worth it. £3 a month is a trivial cost to pay for access to roughly a bazillion mods.

Yes, thank you, i have been getting audio ads that kick in at the most odd times. Like a few weeks back i was playing fallout 4 and this voice came on, thought it was a quest i had stumbled on cause at the same time this robot came up to me, and i thought maybe this thing has a radio or something, turns out i had left a page open in Nexus. I was a little confused there for a bit, lol.

I have my sound turned right up too so i can hear the footsteps in some shooter games, so sometimes i would get a shock when the audio popped up out of nowhere. I'm glad your working on it.

I just don't get it. Why can't the ad providers show simple ads with images and links to their clients sites without all this scripting nightmare. They surely know that this is the reason why people are so zealous about running browsers without script protection.

Another typical cheat they use is to fake the host-site buttons to bait click their ads.
