Why would you need other users to report that there were bad ads? Sure if there were only a few, but considering the extent, all you'd have to do is visit nexus without an adblocker yourself, wouldn't you? I used to whitelist on my favorite sites to help with revenue. But after getting a few viruses, and after all the bad ads that autoplayed and would be obnoxious, I completely gave up.I'm all for donating to my favorite sites instead. Haven't yet on Nexus but I will soon, haven't been using this site too much recently. Dark0ne wrote: All ads are geotargetted to your location. MichaelEpic
Sadly, my adblocker is very active on this site. I took neXus off of my whitelist when I started visiting and my virus detection / malware detection software would alert me that this page was not a good one to visit and I was like wait what? So I took this site off my whitelist.
Dawidko1200
Well I for one will never enable AdBlock on this site. I don't have enough money to donate, so it'll be cruel to strip you of even the little fraction you get from ads. I love this site, and I don't want to see it go. Although fun fact: In Russian, "Ad" is read like "??", which means "hell". Just FYI.
blessingwindwalker
I, for one, was happy to hear of the change. I truly hope it works out with the new Ad provider. After going through the most torturous visits to the Nexus site (i.e. not being to navigate from one page to another or download or even write a complaint without completely freezing until the ads were finished) I was a little bit relieved to see that Nexus was concerned too. I love free enterprise and capitalism but I think this was deterring people from even using the Nexus. Thank you for your concern.

jet4571
Yay, glad to see that ad company getting the boot, over 100 meg download speed and I needed an ad blocker just to navigate the site faster than a 56k modem could and the stupid ads would refresh themselves and freeze the page until it was done so reading long descriptions was a pain. Chillimon
I went and got an adblocker because there was auto playing ads on the nexus. Was a while back, but I was reading some mod description, got up to go to the bathroom, my volume was set up high and without my knowledge or permission, some loud ad started playing while I was taking a dump and woke up my roommate. I'll consider removing my block from your site, but if I hear auto play of sound, I'm done being nice. Also I realize now I have to configure my noscript to allow the ads to run. Even with adblock turned off, the noscript will block them. Damn I didn't realize how many other websites are passing data through my browser to show your ads. Bandwidth use is important to me. Although I am sure it's less than before. I'll monitor it. ... Okay got a nice simple low res Red Cross ad come up. That's a nice ad. So which is it? There is no £1.29 listed if you go to your account and Go Premium link.Joekr323 wrote: The "Supporter" membership is a one time $2 charge. Life time, ad free. In fact I cannot see it, I just see the Premium membership links.Chillimon wrote: Just found the Supporter page.. it's well hidden in the site. Easy to miss, had to click on a ? to see it from an obscure link. Only the premium sub is in the main drop down menu. It's 74.99 USD for lifetime premium membership. Not everyone has that much money to spare. Plus not everyone has the ability to use or setup automatic payments, plus with the hacking of this site's user accounts in the past, security of payments is a concern. Edit (I was confused on the difference between support and premium and that the supporter page is hard to find on this site, so i only ever saw the premium link and thus was looking at conflicting info) Edited May 16, 2016 by Chillimon
