maboru Posted July 23, 2011 Share Posted July 23, 2011 UAC is a Windows function that only allows Windows or the System Administrator to write to Program Files. Steam tries to write to its directory all the time and if its directory is inside Program files so a fight ensues which Steam always loses. There are other fixes but the simplest is never install a game to Program Files or if you do then move its own directory away from Windows, I don't even load games onto my C drive, I use a separate drive thus have never had any of those Steam issues.
