Amy Winehouse dead?

@GrannyWils: When you are telling a fact that might offend someone, you usually start with the phrase "not to be rude". Just another way of saying "Personal, I....."

Of course, her family is most likely in shambles, but people die every day and as a music lover, her music was terrible. Terrible voice etc. Only song that was "listenable" was Rehab, most likely cos it was about her and what most likely happened in real life and as a person trying to be of good morale, against drugs and stuff, think it's fascinating how people tend to ruin their lives.

She was her own worst enemy. Her parents, and the folks at the record company could see the path she was taking, and where it would lead her, five years ago. Several people stated that if she did not alter her lifestyle, she would be dead soon. Her father was one of them. They all saw the writing on the wall, and they all did what they could to help her. She was actually in rehab several times. Just never for very long. I think the longest stay was about a week....... (when she wrote the song... I think.)

I feel for her family, and anyone that loved her, but, so far as I am concerned, she killed herself. She knew the consequences, had every opportunity to get herself the help she needed, and blew it off. Her obituary is the result of the choices she made. I feel nothing for her. Not sadness, (aside from that of a wasted life.), nor pity. Her family though..... they are the ones that are suffering now. They could use some emotional support, and, if it were in my power to do something for them, I would happily do so. There is NOTHING more difficult in this life, than burying a child.

All I can say to most of you above posters is that you are all certainly entitled to your opinions and feelings and/or lack thereof. For those few of you who (other than LisnPuppy, who obviously did) even bothered to read the actual words in my original post, I will once again point out that I am not here to judge or even comment on this young woman's way of life. I did not originate this thread. I simply posted on it in order to express my condolences to her FAMILY, friends and fans. If it is bothersome to some of you, deal with it.

Not to be rude, but the only two of on that list that had any real talent was Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison :P

I won't comment on whether you are being rude or not but in terms of musical talent....that much I agree with you about Hendrix and Morrison. But then again they were musicians of my era so I might be biased..lol.

I'm born in the late 80's, but not "brainwashed" by today's "music" taste. Seems like if you got some money and/or a nice looking ass, you become a famous singer. In the days you speak of, talent was what made people famous.

She was alright. I mean, she didn't sound like all the teenyboppers out there today. Mind, I disagreed with her lifestyle (to be fair she was sort of asking for it with the sort of crap she was putting into her body).

It's a shame, and I can only imagine the pain her family feels. Nobody wants to lose a loved one.

All that said... I can't help but giggle at some of the dark humour that's come of this tragedy. I'd share some, but I'd rather not get flamed for it.
