TheRomans
There are no textures for my sky. Same even going back to old saves that had a sky in them. Using FW (force weather) with a couple different choices does not bring them back. I do not think it is a matter of data files, because since I last saw the sky, the two mods I installed/uninstalled using OBMM did not had any texture files, just a .esp and one had some sound data files. Any idea on why my game does not render the Sky anymore?
David Brasher
The most likely thing is that you have a mod editing sky textures. If you found and completely removed that mod, then your sky textures would revert to vanilla Oblivion and be fixed. There is the faint chance that it is a dirty mod that is not supposed to edit sky textures, but gives bad texture paths to textures you do not have or do not have in those positions. If the problem was an .esp dependent texture replacer, you could run a test in which you deactivated all your mods and had the sky return to normal. If the sky did not return to normal with no mods, then it would more likely be a .espless replacer mod problem. This would be defective sky meshes that render incorrectly because of how they were made. Alternately, they could have been damaged or corrupted and made so that they do not render. You might want to go examine your Data\Textures\Sky folder and see what is in it. You could delete it or rename-to-disable it to make the game revert to vanilla Oblivion in this aspect. This would solve the problem if it is an .espless replacer problem. Some less likely scenarios would be things like archive invalidation problems or corrupted Oblivion requiring Oblivion reinstallation.
nosisab
Might be something with your shader option at the oblivion.ini file (not uncommon when the file is renamed to use shader v3), if is the case the sky should reappear when HDR is enabled. PS: more explicitly, when the current ../data/shaders/shaderpackage0xx.sdp is replaced by a renamed shaderpackage019.sdp The above change is used with the ini line bAllow30Shaders=1 ; (default is 0) Edited July 29, 2011 by nosisab
TheRomans
I think nosisab has it with the shader change, I had done that a few days ago, and had not been out of a dungeon since. I had almost forgotten. Thanks, I will go check that ini setting.

nosisab
Just for the clearness sake: that ini line is useful only with verifying your actual shader package, the information is at the "Renderinfo.txt" file located the same place the Oblivion ini is. Take note of the number in the line Shader Package : # ; where # is a number bellow 19, it is a v2 shader package now, go to your /data/shaders at the installation place and backup the "shaderpackage0xx.sdp" where xx is the number you noted above, renaming it to something like shaderpackage0xx.sdp-bak is enough to know what it is later. Now, copy the shaderpackage019.sdp and rename the copy so it is like the original you changed. This will grant you have actual v3 of the shader.
